Advantages: Very good and exciting Disadvantages: some bits are unbeleivable
Poor – I think not! Many people think this film is just plain poor! I think its great! With stars that you will recognise from films such as American pie trying to avoid death at all costs after nearly dying in a plane crash they all try too evade death but nearly all fail. With one getting elaborate strangled (which is slightly unbelievable) to someone’s head getting chopped off by a piece of shrapnel this film is a great one and all the way to ...

Advantages: the effect on the big screen and the suspense created Disadvantages: Maybe needs to a little longer
This film gript me till the end, if you like fit blokes and on going suspense then this film is just for you. As a female when ever i say that a film was this scary i am thought of as a wose but when you are watching a film and you know that in the next five minutes that somebody will be killed the person who is next to you, if you know them, will have a very sore hand. The effects are brilliant and its definatly seeing it on the big screen for the ...

Advantages: Superb entertainment. Disadvantages: May be underestimated because of the genre it is in.
Final Destination is a great addition to the genre. There will be of course a million and one different comparisons to the recent onslaught of tame horror movies that are being mainstreamed into our cinemas. For example Scream 3, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer etc...
But this film takes a new and fresh approach to the whole slasher genre. From the opening scenes to the heart stopping climax this film is filled with great sequences and genuine ...

Review of Final Destination (DVD)
Advantages: Thought provoking, good fun. Disadvantages: Have we been here before?
Okay, so its not exactly the most original, ground breaking film around but if you like teen thrillers along the lines of "Screem", "I know what you did last summer" and "The faculty" then this is certainly worth a look. The thing that differenciates this film from others in the category is the fact that it is not just mindless killings and feeble girls running around screeming from a goon in a halloween costume. The film is based around the idea ... ...cant change that. It starts when a group of high school kids are off to paris for an exchange trip. After boarding the plane one of the boys gets the idea that the plane is doomed to crash and so the school party leaves the plane. Surely enough, shortly after take off the plane explodes killing everyone on board. So it goes that the school kids have cheated death and now are cursed to be killed off, one by one, as soon as possible by strange forces.

Advantages: true to life Disadvantages: ending to quickly
Final Destination is one of the best movies I have seen without the help of having BIG STARS. The story line is simple. If it is your turn to DIE, it is your turn to die and no matter what you try and how you may avoid it. Death will catch up with you. I was gripped with the story and even though the plane crash is rather brutal at the beginning I was gripped to the very end. Watch out the Bus accident it WILL take you by surprise. This is a GREAT ...

Review of Final Destination (DVD)
Final Destination has made my list as one of the best horror films in the wake of the teen/slasher revival. in fact it's the most original horror film since the original Scream and it may be better than Scream. There have been many cheap imitations(Urban Legend, i still know what you did last summer, etc) but this one is a keeper.
The film begins with the most exhillerating 15 minutes in recent memory(and if you're afraid of flying be prepared to ... ...on a class trip to France. while on the plane he has a vision that the plan is going to explode. Later he awakes from this vison and immediately he goes crazy telling everyone the plane is going to explode. eventually 6 students and alex leave the plane and sure enough moments after the plane takes off it explodes. This is where the story gets interesting by getting off the plane Alex soon realizes that him and his friends have cheated Death and ...

Review of Final Destination (DVD)
Advantages: entertaining death scenes Disadvantages: pretentious, cliched, long periods without enough action
It was never going to live up to expectancies - any movie-goer who put in even a little thought while watching this film could predict exactly what was going to happen, and mixing what could have been a good comedy thriller with pretentious existential philosophy resulted in a cliched and over-metaphored disappointment. Despite a promising plot and excellent performances by all, the film could not overcome a weak script.
The most entertaining parts ... ...script - were the ways in which each character died, but most of the 'jumps' from the audience were more as a result of the far too loud sound effects.
Had the film been shortened by cutting out all the needless 'running around' and 'figuring out' by the 2 leads, 'Final Destination' could have been a lot better although the filmmakers should have realised that sometimes less is more - some movies are just about having fun and a fright, not pondering ...

Review of Final Destination (DVD)
Despite dissipating tension with in-jokes and comic exaggeration, this supernatural thriller is disturbing--if less sophisticated than the best SF-horror TV (producer Glen Morgan and director James Wong worked on The X-Files). A high school student foresees a plane crash, then develops an elaborate theory about the destinies of several survivors he concludes have cheated death. He continues to read meaning into seemingly random events--something ... ...part of what makes the movie so chilling. But some of the characters are named after old-time horror icons, and all the silly references to the genre flatten more than lighten the mood. Candyman's Tony Todd plays a mortician who explains everything to the main character after he's already more or less figured it out. Written by Morgan, Wong, and Jeffrey Reddick; with Devon Sawa and Ali Larter. 97 min. ...

Review of Final Destination (DVD)
Final Destination has an explosive start and manages to maintain the suspense throughout the film. The film has a couple of the finest death scenes seen at the big screen in recent years. The actors are relatively unknown, which leaves the audience guessing as to who is next. The special effects are state of the art, the acting is good, and some scenes will really make you jump.
The idea behind the movie is novel, a welcome change from recent hollywood ...

Wow, A truly great film!
Death has never been more open and well ironically avoided in this film where death is cheated to gain valuble time!
You cannot cheat death, but it seems that you can if you know how, and the main star certainly knows how!
Its gripping and thrilling tale begins with a bunch of students, who get of the plane just before it is about to leave after the main star has a premenition that the plane would blow up, as soon as the ...

Advantages: Scary, shocking, ironic Disadvantages: similar to others of its kind
The plot revolves around the character of Alex Browning, as he and his school friends take an air flight to Paris. Just before take off Alex has a premonition of the plane crashing – so he along with five friends and a teacher disembark. Everyone is angry at missing the trip, that is until the plane explodes on take-off. A return to ‘normal life’ appears impossible as each of the survivors are killed in what look like genuine accidents. Alex then ... ...on the plane – and now fate has come to hunt them down. It may seem that this is just another ‘teen-slasher’ movie cashing in on the success of ‘Scream’ – but this is definitely not the case. ‘Final Destination’ actually uses some brilliant techniques of editing and stylization – everything has been carefully thought of, prepared, and worked through. The film is very over the top, especially in the death scenes – one character has her throat slit, ...

The only reason I went to see this film is because I watched the adverts on TV and wanted to prove to myself that there was no way a film was going to make me jump like that.
Well, I prove myself wrong because I jumped all the way through. Devon Sawa is superb as the leading actor in this film and is proving himself capable of handling all sorts of film roles. I watched this film with my wife who made the film scarier because she yelled out loud ... ...see this film is you

b. have a thing for Sawa

Advantages: Great story line and great visual effects Disadvantages: A bit far fetched
The other day I got a ticket to go see the preview of the movie 'Final Destination'. Because I didn’t have to pay for the movie I thought "why not?". The movie started a bit slow, not being to sure what was happening. (ie the visions of the kid). The movie pick up as the plane took off for their trip, and from there was excellent. The movie was not like any movie I've seen before, great story line, and great visual affects. I would deffenently suggest ...
