Advantages: Good Fun, Impressive Deaths, Decent Performances Disadvantages: Fustrating Script, Some Bad Cliche, Bland Dialouge
...I went to see the Final Destination at the cinema.
I enjoy all things horror, particularly in literature, but have always been disappointed with films (don’t you feel most leave too little to the imagination?), so the site of a room full of people jumping and shrieking made me hope this would be a real scare feast. It wasn’t. But wait. I went to see Final Destination twice at the cinema, for several different but equally pleasing reasons. ...

Advantages: A taut thriller with loads of scares Disadvantages: The cast are nothing more than adequate
...to a whole new premise, Final Destination introduces the villain as Death itself. Devon Sawa stars as Alex, a high school student who is preparing to go to Paris on a field trip with his class. From the opening credits, all the signs point towards something sinister. And as Alex gets on the plane, he finds himself thrust into a mid air explosion. Moments later though, he wakes up and discovers that it was nothing more than a dream. However, convinced ...

When the original 'Final Destination' hit the big screen in 2000, I was blown away by how original and fresh it seemed. Following the success of the 'Scream' trilogy, it could be so easy for a film studio to churn out yet another serial killer related film.
'Final Destination', however was something different. A film where people were facing a terrible ...

Advantages: One of the best movies of 2000 Disadvantages: Very few
Final Destination, or ‘Flight 180’ as it was titled right up until the last minute, was a surprise hit of 2000. It was made with a modest budget of $23m it grossed a nice sum of $53m in the US. It was in the UK, however, where the film really shone, up against the massive epic Gladiator at the time the movie managed to gross a none too bad £11m but what made it better was it was a true sleeper hit, it spent 14 weeks in the UK film charts. ...

Sky Guide described this film as "The best ironic teen horror since Scream". I enjoy horror films, but these days I think there are so many around that they really do need a little irony to help them stand out from the crowd. That in mind, I decided to give this one a go when it came on Box Office.
Be warned, the following op does give away some of the plot, but even if you haven't seen the film and you decide to read on anyway it is still worth ...

I heard a lot about this film, so I had to go and watch it. I would have to rate this film as being one of the best films this year, which i'm sure will not make you want to ride on a plane ever again.
The film starts off with Alex Browning (Devon Sawa), having a bad dream, and getting worried with a gut feeling that something bad is going to happen in his life.
That next day he is supposed to go on a school trip to France with his class mates ...

...remedy for this I thought, Final Destination. American teens on a plane trip to France, student has vision of crash, escapes with a few others, plain crashes, survivors get tormented by the threat of death, supernatural forces at work. Excellent. Nothing new, but my kind of entertainment.
Ah, but there’s more too it than that. I mean, its obvious the students are going to get killed one by one at some point, but the lovely makers of this ...

Advantages: A great Thought provoking film Disadvantages: none, it was great
I'm not usually a great lover of teen horror movies, but for this one, I make an exception. I really enjoyed watching this film and I have now seen it a few times. It was bought for me, at Christmas, by my girlfriend, as I said I wanted it.
-----------------------THE STORY----------------------
There is a class trip, to France provided by the school. While the students are boarding the plane one student, called Alex, has a premonition. His premonition ...

...from the rest. That’s where Final Destination comes in. I was talked into seeing this just after its UK cinema release. If I’m honest I wasn’t expecting much from it. A fairly unknown cast and adverts that really didn’t appeal to me. Of course since that day I have actually bought it on DVD, so that probably gives away what I actually thought about it.
The story is a little different to your run of the mill horror film. It starts with a group ...

~ Final Destination ~
I have to admit that I am no film buff , in fact in the past two years , the only films I have managed to see near to release date are the two Harry Potter films and Scooby Doo - the movie ( the latter two months before release date !! ) .
I do enjoy science fiction , but as a rule of thumb hate most horror type movies , however over the last few days I have access to a few movies , amongst which were the two Final Destination ...

With the box proudly boasting the tagline Death is Coming, its one of the more accurate taglines around. The film opens with Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) at home finishing his packing for a school trip to France, its here we see he is quite scared to fly. Next we ...

...my thing, but after watching Final Destination I may have to change my mind. I can't compare it to those other films because I still haven't seen them, but when they appear on TV I might drag myself to watch them!
I haven't actually heard of any of the stars of the film, but they all provide a good performance throughout the film. It isn't Oscar quality stuff, but a lot better than some of the rubbish I have seen in the last few years. For anyone ...

...new purchases home and put Final Destination in the player, made a cuppa and sat down. I already knew the basic plot, having read the said ops on Ciao, but even so I was still engrossed and shocked by the movie. It is such an incredible premise for a movie (I can't recall another like it) and is brilliantly directed.
The story is about a bunch of American school kids who are due to fly to Paris, but while on the plane, one of them (Alex) has a ...

...Son came back from seeing Final Destination at the Cinema telling me “It’s the best film I’ve seen this year”. That was what, 18 months ago? I finally got around to watching it over the weekend and now wish I’d seen it in all it’s glory on the ‘big screen’.

...stupid, obviously the writers of Final Destination couldn't think of a plausible reason to start killing teenagers so they padded the film out with a silly explanation. End of plot. A quick recap: lots of blood, lots of death and not much story line to get your teeth into.
OK so that's the story. Doesn't look too good on paper does it? It's basically a teen horror flick (think Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and you'll know what I mean) ...
