When the first Final Destination film was launched, the mould was changed slightly and instead of their being a physical killer, it was death itself which would catch up with people. Each of the three films have started with a key protagonist in the film having a premonition of a disaster which is about to take place and they then in some way change the course of action meaning ...

...is still probably not the final 'Final Destination'.
The extras on the DVD make this an even more worthy purchase as when you've watched the film a few times, you have more than enough extras to wade through. Suitably - death by extras, perhaps? An idea for 'Final Destination 4' there I should think!
If you like the first two 'Final Destination' films, chances are you should enjoy this one. Just don't expect Shakespeare or Oscars! This is an enjoyable ...

Advantages: Fun, Great death sequences, Some good extras Disadvantages: Can only watch once or twice before getting bored...
Final Destination 1 was released in 2000 recieving brilliant reviews for it's inventiveness and originality. It was about a boy who gets on a plane, has a premonition that it crashes and get's off taking a few students with him. Surprise, surprise, the plane crashes and what follows is a suspensful, clever movie about death returning to take the lives, in the order they would have died on the plane, of each person who got off and ''cheated death''. ... ...Kill Shot: The making of Final Destination 3 which gives a good insight into the movie. The rest is just an extended scene, TV spots and trailer...pointless little things they add to DVD extras to make it look like there's an abundance of them! Yeah well, we won't fall for that kind of nonsense!
The anamorphic widescreen 16:9 screen transfer is great with bright colours and a sharp picture and the 5.1 surround sound gives a full, all around you ...

Advantages: Great CGI and lots of gore Disadvantages: Repetitive, no story, bad acting, not scary
The Final Destination franchise has become synonymous with horror, suspense, and above all, gore. If you're a teenager and you want to spend an hour and a half being jumped out of your seat or covering your eyes in squeamishness as another attractive youngster is disembowelled, then you've come to the right place. And I admit it: I fit into that category. The original film was innovative in that it replaced the character of a killer with death itself, ... ...The second film, cunningly titled Final Destination 2, not only lived up to the original, but accomplished the rare feat of actually improving upon its foundation. With more action, better deaths, and a more complex and thought-provoking plot, it was really quite good. Therefore, going into Final Destination 3, I probably had a little too much hope riding on it.
Each of the films begins with a premonition of some kind. A plane explosion, a motorway ...

Six years ago Final Destination hit the screen after a spate of horror movies had revived and diminished the genre. But this was something new; it wasn't really a horror film although being billed as one. Instead it was a thriller with horror elements and amazingly it worked incredibly well. The thing about Final Destination was that its set pieces were brilliantly orchestrated. They would set the audience up for a fall yet not pull out the sucker ... ...The premise of the Final Destination movies is that there is a group of characters that manage to cheat death by avoiding a major accident. But death has a design for everyone and soon death is catching up to each and every one of them.
The first film had a plane crash as it's focal point, the second - a large traffic accident. This time our characters cheat death by getting off a roller coaster before it derails and sends it's thrill seekers to ...

Final Destination 2 managed to actually improve upon its original with better death scenes, a bit more action and suspense, and a more thought-provoking plot but Final Destination 3 seemed to revert back to the first one a bit and only changing small parts, such as the relevance of the photos. (I don't want to give away too much to spoil it if you're going to watch it!)

Advantages: A fun, fear filled ride Disadvantages: predictable and no advance in the franchise at all
Final Destination 3 is an unexpected continuation of the franchise first brought to us by Wong and Morgan (of X-Files fame) back in 1997.
The original was a hip, wise cracking blast. A mixture of horror and thriller blended perfectly to make a hugely entertaining film that kept you rooted to the edge of your seat biting your nails.
The sequel, which appeared a few years later, eschewed the horror side for vicarious thrills only a scary thriller ... ...the comedy thriller genre and as such made FD2 a nice surprise and not what was expected. The question that passed my lips on hearing of the plans for a third outing was which way was the third one going to go?
FD3 reverts back to the original in casting by making them predominantly college aged and not the mix of ages from 2. The premise is exactly the same again in that the opening scenes will show you an accident in which everyone will die, this ...

Advantages: Great teen horror Disadvantages: Predictable & sometimes farfetched
Final Destination 3 is the last in the trilogy of these great films. The first two Final Destination films have been intelligent, gritty teen horrors & this film is no exception & in my opinion this is the best of the three. It has such a great story to it that you'll be hooked from start to finish.
Basically it's a film about cheating death but ultimately the message is that you can't cheat death & that death will always catch up with you.
This ... ...I love all the Final Destination films but this has got to be my favourite. It's very inventive & I've never seen a concept like these film before. They are really great teen horror films that can be seen over & over again. This film really will keep you glued to your seat.
This film is directed by James Wong who has directed many episodes of the X files & the 2006 horror Black Christmas. The film runs for approximately 89 minutes. The 2 disc DVD ...

I really enjoyed final destination 1 & 2 so was really looking forward to watch another grand death design.
I found 1 was very good and 2 gave more of an insight into how the grand design actually works. So knowing this I thought 3 would be even better.
As much as I enjoyed watching it, I can't actually say it was better than the other 2.
This film really needs to watched after you have seen the first 2 because then you can really understand ... ...fairground with a bunch of american high school buddies.
At the start it is based around Wendy and her boyfriend and kevin and his girlfirend.
Wendy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has her first premonition just as they are about to go on the roller coaster, she quickly makes a scene and jumps off, with a few others in tow. Just like in the first one. This leads to uncovering what is actually going on ( Deaths grand design) but without actually explaining ...

...it just becomes well, laborious. Final destination 3 has no twist in it whatsoever, we just see more of the same old stuff...and all films need some sort of revelation to them...even sequels. Advantages: Funny Disadvantages: More of the same thing
The Final Destination gravy train rolls on with the third installment. Once again we get the group of teenagers who cheat death by way of one of their member's premonition, this time it takes place on a roller coaster ride at a funfair.
The main character Wendy who has the premonition, has taken pictures of the rest of the survivors as they enjoy themselves at the funfair before the fateful ride. As in the previous films, once she has the premonition ... ...Death's attempts to kill the final survivors of the second movie. Instead as per the first movie we start all over again with the characters dying and Wendy struggling to try to understand from her photos how each character is going to die, but unable to work out how to actually stop it. However the third movie does not introduce any characters from the second (as they did from the first in that movie) and therefore there is no reason to assume that ...

Advantages: Funny in some parts, good lead actress and good directing. Disadvantages: Too much like the rest.
I thought Final Destination 3 was an average, fun movie, but nothing more. Basically it's the same premise as the other two films but is set at an amusement park where a high school student (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has a premonition of a rollercoaster accident involving herself and her friends. Most of them do get off the roller coaster and survive, but it's not long until death catches up with them (again).

...of you who have seen Final Destinations one and two, the plot is basically the same as those:
A group of teenagers are enjoying a night out at a theme park, having all sorts of fun on various different rides. One of the girls is taking photographs to put in the school year book (very American).

I really enjoyed Final Destinations One and Two. Even though the second film has a very similar plot to the first, there were enough differences and shocking moments to make it a lot of fun. However, with this one the plot is starting to wear a little thin. There are a few shocking and sometimes quite gory moments in this film, but they are far too predictable this time. There is also a gaping plot hole near the start of the movie that makes ...
