When I was in New York last year a trailer for this film was shown on one of my movie visits and frankly it was one of the worst trailers I had ever seen. The fact that New Line kept chopping and changing the release date also didn't give positive signs for the film. Fast foward to a UK release and the reviews were less than complimentary. What really does start out as a blinding modern cop thriller ends up so far up it's own arse that you long for Frank Drebin to walk on set. Don't take me wrong, De Niro is quite convincing throughout the movie but he did not get the chance to show what he is capable of.
