i'd describe family guy as the simpsons for an older audience. my friend showed me a few episodes and i thought it was ace and led to me buying the box sets. meet the Griffins: Peter Griffin - father of 3 children (meg, chris and stewie) husband of lois. fat, lazy, drinks and has a crap job never fails to make comments such "lois you're lucky, all the things you like doing - cooking and cleaning - are right here in the house waiting for you." ... Family Guy is amongst the top humorous cartoons I have ever watched. The characters are funny, the jokes are brilliant. Yet I feel somewhat disappointed. This disappointment stems from the fact that Family Guy has copied The Simpsons in many ways. The creators did not plagiarise but they incorporated many characteristics of The Simpsons into family guy. I've been a long time Family Guy fan, and as wonderful as Seasons 1 and 2 were, the massive change in writing staff in preperation for Season 3 really pays off.
