Advantages: It's one of the funniest programmes on the telly. Disadvantages: Apart from a minor issue with picture quality, none.
Family Guy first appeared in my world years ago when it was first aired in the U.K. on Sky One, but if memory serves me right, it only lasted a few episodes before it disappeared for a while. However, those few episodes were enough for me to become hooked.
Jesus: "For my next miracle, I'm going to turn this water into funk!"
It's hard for me to offer up similar alternatives or even a one-line description of Family Guy, and the closest I can come ... ...escaped your vile womb."
Family Guy follows the day to day life of the Griffin family from Quahog, Rhode Island. Peter is the supposed head of the household, although it's usually his stupidity or misfortune that an episode will concentrate on. Lois is his loving and long-suffering wife who will bring an element of common sense to the proceedings while balancing the complex issues of her children. Chris is a 13 year old boy with a desire for drawing ...

..."So which is better - Family Guy or The Simpsons?"
For my money, I think I've worked it out. The Simpsons was an excellent, innovative programme. It was funny in a way we hadn't seen before, and it worked on many levels, and did pretty darn cleverly on every one. But it's passed its prime these days, and they only ever seem to repeat the ones you've seen a thousand times already. This gets boring. And of course, should you care to buy the videos, ... ...inevitably begin with some mundane family situation. Sound familiar? Yeah - that's 'cos so far, it's the Simpsons with new names.
But Family Guy goes that little further down the road of the un-PC, libellous, satirical and just generally insanely random than its founding father, or indeed any of its contemporaries - shows like King of the Hill, for instance. Largely due to the fact that it contains two characters the Simpsons don't have any equivalent ...

...season of the hilariously funny family guy. The show was untimely axed after this first season but after mass complaints from the American public they had no choice but to create more. Yes, surreal is Family Guy's middle name!
The roots of the humour rely on plays on words, references to films/tv, surreal answers and scenarios and simple dry-wit. A few of my favourite quotes from this series include:
"Peter: Sorry Meg. Daddy loves ya, but Daddy also loves Star Trek, and in all fairness, Star Trek was here first."
"Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.'

Introduction
****************************
Family Guy first came to TV screens on the 31st January 1999. Since then it has become a cult show with avid fans all over the world and three successful series‘. The crazy antics of the Griffin family from Quahog, Rhode Island, are peculiar and utterly hilarious- many people think it’s funnier than The Simpsons. I’m not sure if I agree with this. The Simpsons is funny in a more satirical, political way ... ...video sales have given the family the kiss of life and a fourth series has been commissioned, due to hit screens in January 2005. Until then, watching the first three series over and over again will do me fine.

I hadn't seen Family Guy for over a year since it was first shown on Channel 4, but then I saw that the DVD was released!!! This has to be the new Simpsons, it is just so funny! Anyway, I'll start on about the programme for those of you who haven't seen it before.
