I first heard about this film a couple of years ago, when we bought a satellite and one channel was showing the trailers for it every hour or so. It was then shown every single day for about two weeks, hence I got to see it plenty of times! The film was released back in 1998, and stars Denzel Washington as the main character (John Hobbes). You'll also recognise John Goodman (Jonesy) and Donald Sutherland (Lieutenant Stanton) who also play major roles ...

The film begins with homicide detective John Hobbes (Denzel) having caught and convicted a crazy murderer, who is sentenced to death in the gas chamber. ...I really enjoyed this film, the story line was very easy to follow. It was full of exciting scenarios but most of all, months later you can still hear the serial killer singing his song, "TIME........TIME AFTER TIME". I think the ending leaves an option for a Fallen 2 !! ...

...as azazel comes from the fallen angels who have been cast out of heaven and seek revenge by possessing human souls. It is a great twist of fate, espeically as having being possessed by the spirit you sing the Rolling Stones song "Time is on my side..." (a certain sense of irony as the ending shows). This film is a classic. I love horror films, but am never scared by them. This film got me! The film has an unusual storyline which is brilliantly acted, scripted and shot! Detective John Hobs catches a murderer that has commited some horrific murders! The film opens with Hobbs dying and he starts his story. He is then talking to a man, before his execution, who speaks in many toungues. This scene sets the murderer as a completely sane wacko? After ...
...murders start up again and the new killer is targeting Hobbs and trying to set him up. The strangness comes in when the murders are committed by different people! The 'baddy' in the film is brilliant and really 'freaked' me out. This film has been compared to 'Sixth Sense', but I feel the only similarity is that the film deals with the supernatural. ...you heard that before. Fallen is a murder thriller that keeps you hanging on right until the very end and even then there are some un-answered questions. Denzel Washington is a great lead actor, the only thing that he did wrong was constantly chew gum!!! But despite that, it is very good, not like other films that you may have seen. Although five years on there has been no sequel, the ending is a different one, where it is not good that triumphs. ...

Fallen is about a detective named Hobbes (played by Denzel Washington) who finally captures a brutal serial killer. Soon after the killer's demise, more murders, fitting his M.O. start popping up all around him. During the plot, he finds that the killer is a spirit which can travel around from body to body just by touch. The suspects in the crimes are usually (up until now, of course) law abiding citizens turned very bad. This film is highly recommended ...
...that this film is boring, it's just very much involved. The cast is excellent, including John Goodman as Hobbes' partner and Donald Sutherland. This film is very gripping and the conclusion is very well done. Highly recommended. The DvD version of this Disc is great. The quality is good, the sound quality is excellent with a few good extra features. Perhaps not a 6th Sense beater but well worth a look ...
