Advantages: Good, well - thought - out special effects. Disadvantages: Too short and only a touch on the book.
...tickle on the adventures of Eragon and doesn't show the true meaning of the story. One specific reason why this DVD is so fast - paced is because it is only 99mins long. Whilst the book portrays a life of travelling along deserts for days on end, the film just shows the majority of fights, deaths etc. There is no sense of tention within the film and it doesn't show all the dilemas you will find in the book. I also thought this was a rushed job and ... ...Most of the book is Eragon and Brom trying to make their way to a city to fight the Urgals and destroy Galbatorix once and for all. The DVD shows no evidence of this and just sails through the chapters without considering the major issues within the book.
While the fights in the book last for almost two chapters, the movie shows them for mere minutes before quickly moving on to the next subject and not taking into account all the tiny bits which ...

Advantages: some parts were gripping Disadvantages: taking some ideas from some other films
the film
basically this film is about a boy (eragon) who discovers a dragon egg and becomes a dragon rider and learns more about the dragons and drangon riders history than just hearing t he stories.
bad points
in this film i noticed a kind of lord of the rings harry potter sort of thing going on which unfortunatley i think isnt very good because they need to come up with their own ideas. like with the red sword it glows red whenever something ... ...sword whenever orcs come by.
recomended to young children as its like a fantasy film its not really something the older ones tend to go for.
personal veiw
very much like harry potter and lord of the rings again it does have some good parts in it which are gripping but it seemed to drag a little ...

Advantages: Good animation and action Disadvantages: Predictable, average, disappointing
It’s hard to describe this film in just one sentence, but I think I’ve got it: one massive cliché.
There’s a good guy who’s the unwilling ‘chosen one’, and evil guy trying to control the world, evil guy’s servant, an army of strange creatures only made for killing, an old man who guides the good guy, a woman who doesn’t seem to do very much, and an untrustworthy guy that comes in mid-way and saves the good guy. And before you say, ‘Isn’t that Lord ... ...it. And the dragon makes all the difference.
What this plot does mean, however, is that there are ample opportunities to throw in a couple of clichés. Actually, more than a couple. I lost count at fifty. My personal favourites of are, is ‘It’s your fate to be a dragon-rider’ and ‘You’re the only one who can do it.’
There’s something about the over-dramatic use of the words ‘destiny’, ‘fate’ and ‘chosen’ that really annoys me. They’re just so damn ...

...the third person but shows Eragon what he must expect in his new future. The story goes that when he recieves a dragon egg he gives a land that is ruled by a cruel king the hope of a brighter future.
For the action fans there are plenty of fights and thrills with a glorious battle towards the end. While for the chick flick lovers there is the promise of a romantic development between Eragon and Arya played by Sienna Guillory. The film keeps a good ...

Advantages: Great graphic's and Sound, Intresting Disadvantages: Clichéd to other top title's made.
...guy in the name of Eragon who must save the Dragon Riders, and save the Kingdom from Evil......
There is a big fight near the end of the film when evil comes to fight against the good in a secret place behind a waterfall. So its very like LOTR films.
The story is a bit Cliché to other film's previously made. The character's are played quite well. The sound and picture on the Blue Ray is spectacular, much clearer sound and graphics. The picture ...

Advantages: special features are very good Disadvantages: very predictable
this is the story of a farm boy who gets his life changed forever when he finds an egg. this leads him to be a hero and he meets many new people on the way. this is a very typical story and is quite predictable, however there are a few added twists. i have recently bought this product and after watching it a couple of times i realised i shouldnt have. alot of the acting in this is very over the top and it seems that after a few watches you realise ... ...are however deleted scenes on the DVD which i enjoyed and a few i thought they should have added. overall i feel that you should think twice about buying this product as it doesnt appeal to everyone and its storyline is very predictable. there is a good side to this movie and that is that the ending is incredible good and leaves it open for the other three and although isnt the best movie in the world it makes you want to watch the other movies. ...

...the rings and Narnia movies. Eragon is the latest slice of fantasy that comes from Twentieth Century Fox and is an adaptation of a successful book. Written by Christopher Paolini when the young writer was still in his teens, Paolini has developed this tale into a trilogy all about good versus evil with dragons thrown in for good measure. With the likes of WETA and ILM in charge of the movie’s special effects, will the movie going audience be ready ... ...A young farm boy called Eragon (Ed Speleers) finds the stone and takes it back to the farm he lives on that is owned by his uncle.

...the Lord of The Rings, Eragon has been able to invoke a revitalized interest on the topic of dragons. With enhanced cyber graphics and savvy sound effects and light backdrops, this show has rocked me to my core. Never before had such a DVD ever made such a lasting impression on me.
