...his inventor has snuffed it, Edward Scissorhands (Johnny Depp) is brought into pastel perfect idyllic suburbia to become the hairdresser/ topiarist of choice. Tim Burton’s personal fairytale crystallised many of his favourite themes - the outcast as hero, the weirdness that hides behind normality - and served up trademark arresting imagery but what was new here for Burton was the emotional timbre behind the bonkers visuals, a quality helped immeasurably ...

She takes him ... ...to settle in well, been a hit with the neighbours, cutting hedges. and cutting hair. That is until his life is turned upside by Kim, Peg's beautiful teenage daughter. Ed starts to fall in love with Kim, but she regards him no more than a freak. Ed becomes tormented by Kim's boyfriend Jim and his relationship with Kim. ...a wonderful backing music.
Edward Scissorhands is about a man called Edward (played by Jonny Depp) created by a Mad Professor who lived in a big house on a hill, in a manner similar to frankenstine. He had almost finished Edward when he died suddenly. The only part of Edward to complete was his hands, which were made of scissors at that point.
Poor Edward was left on his own in this spooky house when one day Winona Ryders mother knocked on to sell ... ...Ryder (well, who wouldn't!)
Edward became a national celebrity and at first fitted in well into this stereotypical small town American town. He cut peoples hedges into all manner of shapes (the big dinasor hedge is particularly memorable).
Then things go wrong. Edward is wrongly accused of attacking some locals and is hounded out of town and eventually .... well that would spoil the ending!
A brilliant film - I would recommend it to anyone!!! ...

...an old inventor who builds Edward from scratch in his dark and gloomy (and rather spooky) mansion, but dies before he has a chance to finish, leaving scissors for his hands (hence the name Edward Scissorhands).
Edward is eventually discovered when the friendly local Avon lady (Dianne West) calls at the house. She takes pity on Edward and brings him back to live with her in the too-immaculate suburban neighbourhood, full of judgmental curtain twitchers.
... ...from other fairytales). Edward struggles to fit in in the neighbourhood as he is regarded as a freak by the plentiful gossiping housewives, and ends up puttings his skills to good use by offering radical new haircuts to the neighbours, and taking up topiary to produce amazing shapes out of the neighbours hedges (yes, it sounds very odd, but it works!)
But Edward is not used to being around people, and eventually his lack of control with his scissorhands ...

Johnny Depp takes on the role of being a man-made male. Unfortunately, his maker died and he was left unfinished, in a big mansion. The town rumoured about who lived in the house, little did they know that he only had scissors/shears for his hands.
He gained quite a talent for reshaping shrubs and trees into any creature or thing you could possibly imagine.
He is discovered by an Avon lady that takes him home and tries to give him a make-over, ... ...and all of a sudden he town become very interested in getting to know the scissor-hands. (Only because they want amusing shrubs).
Soon enough, the town gets bored and begins to plague him, forcing him back into his mansion to spend the rest of his life alone. Wyonna tries to go his rescue him but naturally he is too difficult to get too close to, might lose a few locks of hair, or a finger maybe.
It’s a ‘nice’ story, it has the ...

Advantages: Magical, a great fairytale & an original concept Disadvantages: None
Edward Scissorhands is a magical movie, a fairytale of a film. Johnny Depp stars in the title role as a man with large metal scissors in the place of hands. It is often quite surreal & definitely an original approach by Tim Burton, but it pays off, as he creates a film that captivates both child & adult alike. Winona Ryder is the star name amongst the rest of the cast. It is set in a fairly ordinary American street, which becomes beautiful after ...

Advantages: Good direction, and johnny depp Disadvantages: Winona Ryder
Combining Tim Burton's clearly dark and disturbing style with Johnny Depp's obvious talent is a good reason to go and see this film. Winona Ryder is one reason to stay away. Personally, I think she is a bit hammy and annoying to be such a big star. South Park had it right about her in the movie. The film is very emotional, and will bring out tears from the more vulnerable of the females in the audience, and Elfman's soudtrack adds to this for an ...

Another Tim Burton brilliant movie, it has the lovely Winona Ryder who is quite a young lady here. Johnny Depp plays an invention who on the outside looks like a course little monster but underneath he has a heart of gold. There are many memorable scenes from this movie including one of which is a water bed and when he does pet hair cutting. The young two eventually fall in love but at the end it's a very upsetting end that makes even the most manly ...

...bleak hill speaks for itself. Edward is more than an outcast, but as the film progresses you see that Edward is not just a pouty, handless freak, but a man with a real skill for cutting hedges to hair and in a warped and bizarre way gives you an insight onto how some people with real disabilites get treated by diffrent people. Quintessencially this is a cult-classic rom com. CHARCATERS:
The romeance between Edward (Johnny Depp) and KIm (Winona Ryder) ... ...Spanish TV spots and Concept Artwork which is my favorite feature as it shows some of artwork Burton has done to create the overall asthetic for Edward Scissorhands.

This is one of Tim Burton's most highly acclaimed films, and for a good reason too. He creates a dark, moody film, similar to his other ones, such as Beetlejuice and Batman. Johnny Depp gives one of the best performances of his career as the title character, Edward. He plays the quiet, tortured character to perfection. Other notable performances come from Dianne Weist and Winona Ryder, who plays Edward's love interest. It is an uplifting film with ...
