...story of a baby elephant, Dumbo who after being delivered to his mother by a manic stork is found to have the biggest ears imaginable. His mother is a star in a travelling circus and the situation leads to a wonderful series of adventures and routines which are superb. ...crows. They help to chear dumbo up. We find in this film that the dialogue is very short. Dumbo really speaks although his mother sings a very nice song called "baby mine". The people in the film seem to be made up of silhouettes or shadows,but the effects are stunning, even the grass and leaves move.. The film of Dumbo begins with his mother being in the circus with all the other elephants, awaiting the arrival of the stork. When her baby elephant arrives, it appears perfect, until its huge ears are revealed and poor Dumbo is ridiculed. "Dumbo" is certainly an extremely sweet (and never sappy) animated feature, and the title character is one of the most endearing animated creatures I've ever seen. But the picture as a whole doesn't hold up too well; it just seems too slight to sustain even its 62 minutes, and today's kids will probably find the pacing uncomfortably sluggish. ...beat the classics, of which Dumbo just has to be one. Ask almost anyone to recall childhood memories, and dumbo has to feature somewhere. It must have been awesome back in 1941 when it was first released. When repeats of this film come on TV, you know Christmas is just around the corner! A film which has paved the way for so much of what we see today. It is a classic, which will never die, and will continue to be adored for the unforeseeable future ...
