Advantages: Dalek is one of the best ever episodes! Disadvantages: The first two aren't.
Doctor Who was a huge hit when it returned to our TV screens in March after a gap of 16 years. The ninth Doctor was played by Christopher Eccleston, with his companion Billie Piper (presumably "Because she wanted to", ha!). Both were excellent in their roles and along with new monsters, amazing special effects, great writing and some brilliant guest stars, the TV programme dominated Saturday evening viewing. June 18th saw the last episode of this ... ...the earlier series who believe Doctor Who is all wobbly studio sets and dodgy blue screens.
The guest stars are very good too with both Penelope Wilton and Annette Badland putting in very good performances, although poor Annette must have grimaced at the farting. I know I did! This story just seemed to get the balance wrong, so that it all became a little slapstick and silly. As if the farting aliens weren't awful enough, we then have to contend ...

Volume Two of Doctor Who's first re-imagined season opens up with The Doctor and Rose returning to earth after a supposed 12 hours have passed only for Rose to then discover that in actual fact 12 months have passed. Her mum thought something bad must have happened to her and Rose's boyfriend, Mickey, was allegedly taken into custody on suspicion of bumping her off!!! This episode and it's follow-up, WORLD WAR THREE, although not weak, are far from the strongest of stories this season. The Slitheen too are hardly scary and, with their comedic fart noises that they make when disguised as human, seem almost to be played just for laughs. They wouldn't look out of place in a kids show and ...

Doctor Who?
Ok so again for those of you who have been living in the dark, Doctor Who is about a man only known as the Doctor who is a time-lord simply meaning he travels in time. Along the way he picks up an assistant called Rose and away they go facing friends and foes together. This is a science fiction show so expect some good monsters and scary effects at times.

The crash is no ordinary one as they soon find out that it is due to a spaceship and Downing street is suddenly becoming very strange. This episode is brilliant and works well as a two part special and features an appearance by established British actress Penelope Wilton as Harriet Jones.

Doctor Who started way back in 1963, with William Hartnell playing the Doctor! And his performance must have been so strong as we as a whole are still obsessed with this gripping programme, 44 years later!
Since then, we have met 10 Doctors, and adored every one of them! This Doctor (9th) is played by the lovely Chris Eccleston, living up-to-date adventures in his big blue box, more commonly known as a TARDIS. But the Doctor ... ...three fantastic adventures with the Doctor and his companion, Rose (Billie Piper).

...from the new series of Doctor Who. ALIENS OF LONDON/WORLD WAR 3
Written by Russell T Davies
Director Keith Boak.
A double part story that introduced the Slitheen, who were supposed to be scary new monsters. This story is basically a great big mess.
The Doctor and Rose return to contemporary London, a great big spaceship plows through Big Ben and lands in the Thames.
I really hated this story, it combined more soap opera with the insipid Tyler's ... ...heard of computer security.
The Doctor can travel throughout the entire universe but he decides to return to London in the 21st century, to that horrible grotty council estate with those horrible boring characters. By this stage in the original viewing the novelty had worn off.
The performers in this story were instructed to play it for laughs by the director, so I can't blame them for chewing the scenery.
There were a few things I liked. The ...

Advantages: Fantastic acting Disadvantages: to many fart gags
In the new series of Doctor Who, Russell T Davies pulled off the near impossible, and made a series the BBC had thrown on the scrap heap since 1989 into must-see Saturday evening TV. No longer the preserve of geeks and fanboys, it became primetime family entertainment in ways it hadn't been since the 1970s, and Christopher Eccleston was an impressive, if sadly short-lived, Doctor. Chris gives The Doctor funnyer side with his sarcastic coments. Billie ...

...Christopher Eccleston plays a different Doctor but nonetheless in the second part of these new adventures his character seems to be fully developed and he seems to have relaxed into the role, and as all new people to play the central role have done, he seems to have brought a new dimension to the part.
A somewhat surprisingly good performance from Billie piper (Rose Tyler), perhaps to some a very surprising choice for such a demanding role. Nonetheless ... ...are excellent there is for me, too much set on or around the earth, it is time for the Doctor to explore space as well as Time.
The new TARDIS control room also looks futuristic and yet has the whimsical penchant for breakdowns that make Doctor Who what it is. ...
