...gap of 9 years the Doctor returned to British TV screens, the response was a resounding success. Millions of viewers watched the show as it was screened with a further 5 million watching at a later date (having recorded it). By episode three it was obvious that UK audiences had not yet tired of the Doctor and the announcement was made that not only would there be a second and third series but two Christmas specials too. In this first volume of Series ... ...before Rose's very eyes the Doctor becomes suddenly quite sick; the force of taking in the power of the TARDIS has caused his regeneration to have difficulties. The pair returns to Rose's home where Rose's mother prepares the Doctor for bed. But while out of consciousness something rather unpleasant is going on in space above them.
Leaving the Doctor in Jackie's care Rose and Mickey head off into town to do a bit of last minute Christmas shopping. ...

Advantages: a good story , opening up for more Disadvantages: missing Eccleston as the Doc...
...on planet earth and the Doctor is in the regeneration process, making way for the tenth Doctor, (played by David Tennant) to take the reigns… but unfortunately for the human race, the Doctor is drained of energy and fast asleep whilst an invasion by the gruesome enemy takes place… With Rose and Mickey first encountering some rather Jolly looking, but very dangerous, father Christmases, who are hell bent on finding the Doctor before he fully regenerates… ... ...by Billie Piper).
The Doctor takes Rose to some weird galaxy in the year 5 billion and 23 to see New New York, only to find the pair being transfixed by a Hospital which is run by cats and has the cure to every disease known to man…
But as the pair become separated it is not long before Rose is reunited with an old acquaintance and is soon in danger… whilst the Doctor sees more than he can believe.
Then, as the Doctor and the 'new' Rose begin ...

Advantages: Great regeneration Disadvantages: None really
...Eccleston left the role of Doctor Who, many were disappointed as he had sparked the new age of Doctor Who, and it seemed as if he was the answer to keeping the show going. However, up stepped David Tennant at the end of the final episode of the first series, and it is here that he gets his teeth stuck into the role.
Having watched the first series in a relatively short space of time (1 week!), I found myself very much intuned with Eccleston in the ... ...actors who have played the Doctor over the years is that they have all been so very different to each other, and this continues here with Tennant, as he embarks on the second of the modern series of Doctor Who.

Advantages: Great Entertainment. Disadvantages: No Special Features.
When Doctor Who returned to our TV screens last year I don't think people expected it to be the great success it has become. Then when Christopher Eccleston announced he was leaving we could not believe it. Why would you want to leave such a brilliant role? Anyway off he went and in came David Tennant to fill his shoes. I was worried Tennant would not be as good as Eccleston but I have to say I am wrong and this first DVD in the new second series ... ...-----

Doctor Who is about a travelling time lord and his companion. Together they travel through time and space looking for monsters and strange lands that they can explore and every so often they have to save the world again. Well it is all in a hard days work for these pair.

Advantages: Amazing Effects, Great Storylines Disadvantages: It Had To End
...i never really liked the doctor who series, it just didnt look "real" enough. but since the new series of doctor who (Chri Ecclestone, David Tennant & Billie Piper) It has rarely been off our tv at home, whether its on DVD, BBC Three Or UK Gold! Davis Tennant Taking over from Christopher Ecclestone plays an incredible doctor, light-hearted and a true love story between the Doctor & Rose (Billie) Great Visual Effects & Superb All Round Cast!
