=== Who? ===
If you haven’t heard of doctor who then I have no idea where you’ve been! However this could be due to be obsession with the doctor. Doctor who is a British production which is broadcast on the BBC and has been since 1963 inconsistently. Sadly I wasn’t around when doctor who first came out and I started watching it when series 1 first came out. So after 16 whole years (apart from the one off movie) the ... ...===
_The Doctor_
Doctor Who had been around for so long that this doctor would be the ninth one. Christopher Eccleston was the lucky actor who took up this role and for the entire series he played it wonderfully. His acting of the doctor was really good and this was the first time I met the legendary doctor and he definitely made an impression. The doctor is a fun and exciting individual who travels around in time and space. He is the last time ...

When I first heard that Doctor Who was coming back, way back in 2003, I was more excited than any thirty-something man had any right to be. But this was MINE. This was the Doctor. Stretching back to 1963 this children/family TV Science-fiction adventure series had captivated the hearts of children throughout the nation and all over the world. TARDIS, Daleks, Gallifrey, regenerations, words that thrilled and excited the imagination. Despite still ... ...he wanted to make was Doctor Who - and, apparently, he repeatedly refused to work for the BBC unless they let him have a go. And finally, when the right people were in place at the BBC, they let him...
The problem that the new production team had was how to make the show relevant to a new much more sophisticated audience and to appeal to the older generations of fans as well. So, let's see how they did...

Advantages: Loads of variety, great performances, Disadvantages: bit too emotional, some of the episodes. Sniff.
Doctor Who started way back in 1963, with William Hartnell playing the Doctor! And his performance must have been so strong as we as a whole are still obsessed with this gripping programme, 44 years later! In the 21st Century, we met a brand new, fresh Doctor when the show was decided to be brought back. In come Chris Eccleston! He was perfect material to introduce Doctor Who to the younger generation who may not have known what the show was about. ... ...goes by the name The Doctor from these creatures! But who is controlling them, and can the Doctor safe everybody else...? This was the first Series 1 episode I saw, though I started to watch Doctor Who from Series 2. I am quite a stubborn person so I was certain I was not going to like Chris Eccleston as the Doctor, but I did! I adore him! This whole episode introduced me to a completely different series from the one I was used to, and made some ...

Advantages: All the episodes are here plus some great extras! Disadvantages: Costly, but cheaper than buying all the DVDs separately
The Doctor Has Landed!
*******************************
I've been waiting ages for the box-set of the new Doctor Who series to arrive. I very nearly bought the episodes separately, but resisted the temptation knowing the extra features (like in the Lord of the Rings extended DVDs) would make it much more worthwhile! I found it the other day on Amazon priced at £45 which is the cheapest I've seen since its release on November 21st 2005. Some shops ... ...freeze of the stars of Doctor Who, Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor and Billie Piper as his companion Rose Tyler. As with the majority of action poses of the two, The Doctor is protectively blocking a bemused-looking Rose from harm, wielding his trusty Sonic Screwdriver. The box opens up by pulling on this panel; it is resealable due to a clever hidden magnetic strip.
The first time I opened it up I got a pleasant surprise that inspired the title ...

...long break since the last Doctor Who and bringing it back in the 21st century would always be a risk, but with all the modern special effects tricks available the new series should make interesting viewing.
*The first episode, Rose, sees the doctor (Christopher Eccleston) rescuing Rose (Billie Piper) from the dreaded shop dummies in a department store on their very first meeting.
The Doctor is on Earth hunting down an Alien creature, 'the Nestene', ... ...attack people in London the Doctor and Rose have to stop the earth being taken over by this thing.
As an opening episode it was well written with an easy to follow story line for the return of the Doctor. The minimal use of special effects making the episode more believable, the opening explosion very dramatic indeed.
The opening episode gently introduces the main characters, briefly explaining who and what each persons involvement in the show ...

Advantages: Brilliant stories, fantastic acting. Disadvantages: Cutdown confidentials instead of full episode
The first series of Doctor Who I saw was series 4. I thought it was brilliant and instantly loved it so obviously wanted to watch the rest of the series to see what other amazing stories there were.
To describe the First SEries in one word I would have to say it was FANTASTIC!
Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor is brilliant and Billie Piper as his companion Rose means there's lots of laughs along the way too.
In the first episode ROSE the Doctor ... ...life and travel with the Doctor in his TARDIS.
In the second episode THE END OF THE WORLD they travel to platform one to see the end of Earth. There are loads of different aliens on board and some robot spiders which are trying to destroy the ship they are on and kill everyone.
In the third episode THE UNQUIET DEAD the Doctor takes Rose to Cardiff in 1869 by mistake and they meet Charles Dickens. They also meet a new alien race the Gelth who lost ...

...well well. Series 1 of Doctor who has come. I will tell you the episodes and what they are a tiny bit about. Yes it is copies from a forum. Don;t worry. This is proberly aloud because i made the titles and about on a forum under my username so it is my own. Anyway... Incase you are wondering why TARDIS is in caps, it's because it means something. TARDIS = Time And Relitive Dimension In Space (TARDIS).
Some of the Cast:
Doctor Who 1- Christopher ... ...(Episode 2) - Zoe Wanamaker
Doctor Who 2 (end of episode 13 and all of 14) - David Tennant
I will edit it and add on more so dont worry.
Anyway... The first time i ever heard about Doctor Who was when it came to BBC1 in 2005. I saw the advert and thought, what is that? I heard about that they would go through dangers and adventures. It tempted me to watch it when it came on at 7PM BBC1 Saturday. I saw the first episode and i thought: :O ....... ...

Advantages: entertaining, fantastically written Disadvantages: costly
...fan of the Christopher Eccleston Doctor Who series, prefering David Tennant, but the box set was bought for me for my 18th birthday and I started watching them.
I began to appreciate more the relationship of the Doctor and Rose now I had known their beginnings. I did feel sorry for poor Mickey, Rose's boyfriend who was just left, so I am glad that in the second series he played a much larger part.
My favourite episode out of all 13 is the last, ... ...shows the care between the Doctor and Rose, even though her love for the Doctor seems to go unnoticed, deep down the doctor cares for her greatly by sending her home for safety. Rose's determination to return to him again shows their strong bond and the twist of her making Captain Jack immortal adds to the superb ending of the series.
The box set may be costly but I reccommend anyone who is a fan of Doctor Who past and present to buy it as it is ...

...was the first series of Doctor Who that I got into, as I didn't see any of the others, and now because of these, I now have a very high knowledge of the series.
All the way through watching these DVDs, I was hooked - so hooked, in fact, that I watched 11 out of the 13 episodes in one night.

I bought it from play.com, a web site that always has fantastic prices for anything you want to buy (DVDs, computer games, books, gadgets, etc.) It cost me £44.99 which, when you look at an ordinary DVD price is very good, and the RRP of this box set was £59.99.
In conclusion, I found it very hard to find any disadvantages for this product, because ...

...the latest installment of the Doctor Who franchise, I'd say you would really have to start with this one. Russell T. Davies has re-envisioned the series for a new century and it shows. Mostly gone are the episodic cliff-hanger endings (save a few two-parters), but in their place are self-contained stories that aim to dazzle adults as well as children. Christopher Eccleston is excellent as the new Doctor. He is charming, funny and above all, mysterious ... ...world to the phenomenon of Doctor Who, it does feel a bit of a let down in the story department. However, as soon as Rose steps into the TARDIS she's whisked off to bigger and better (and scarier) stories to come!
Children will love this approach to science fiction as it is not at all like Star Trek or anything else on television. Adults appreciate the subtle humour and Russell T. Davies offers an ongoing mystery throughout the series that will ...
