When I read that the Bond films were being re-released I though here we go again, another money spinner. Having bought all the "Special Editions" a couple of years ago, I was very dubious about spending loads of money to repurchase them. However, when I read about the difference in quality between the special and ultimate edition my curiosity was peaked. ...quality is a massive improvement is a little bit of an understatement. The special edition was basically a transfer from the original film to DVD with some special features bolted onto the side. The Ultimate edition has basically gone back to the original film, transferred it to a computer and then each frame was edited, frame by frame, to remove all the picture speckles and dirt from the print.
