...is the number 2 of dirty dancing; there has been a difference of opinion on this film, as with most films. I think it always depends on your taste of film, and I always think that the second part of a film never lives up to the expectations of the first. ...I loved the original dirty dancing and would vote it my no. 1 film of all time and the only film I've watched probably more than 10 times. This film is a prequel taking place several years before dirty dancing was set but it does not marry this story with the later Dirty Dancing in anyway, although the large Dirty Dancing 2 across the front of the DVD implies that it does. The back of the dvd claims "He's going to show her the time of her life" ...
...was false advertising calling this dirty dancing 2 as it has absolutely no connection whatsoever. They were obviously trading on the name of the original to try and capitalise profits. Even with this people weren't stupid as once word got round about it and it did badly in the States I think it went straight to dvd in UK. Would I recommend this film - No. Its watchable if you have nothing better to do and has some good scenes but it is not a patch ...

...is totally put the original Dirty Dancing out of your head because this film has absolutely nothing to do with the first. A lot of people had been misled that it would be a continuation of the first when it was announced that Patrick Swayze would be making a cameo appearance, but blink and you'll miss him. Originally titled 'Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights' they have obviously changed the title for the DVD release to capitalise even more on the original. ...

...to that of the original Dirty Dancing, it was still enjoyable and something which is new and exciting. I think that Diego Luna who plays the male lead soes a heart-rendering performance that weakenewd me at the knees and Romala Garai is fantastic (especially the American accent she puts on seen as shes actualy very much British). The story line is interesting as it is set around the time of the revolt in Cuba when Fidel Castreo took over and shows ...
...both fantastic and quite raunchy in places especially when they are practising in the stolen car workshop! I think that the costumes were beautiful and the was Katey's hair was done was also fantastic. I though that this film was totally enjoyable and great fun to watch but with quite a sad ending. ...

...is similarities between this and Dirty Dancing, but it is not a remake nor is it a carbon copy. Similarities can be drawn between the characters and there is - obviously - a lot of dancing, dirty and otherwise. I do have some gripes with this movie, firstly the casting. Dirty Dancing 2 was enjoyed by all my family members, the story line is much better than Dirty Dancing , and tells the ups and downs of moving abroad for a high class family, that has to live and survive in a democratic village, and that the whole climate change is different, and Katey learns to dance, become independent, and certainly has the time of her life with Javier, they enter a dance competition to have the final ruined, by the police, so, ...
