DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER
FILM ONLY REVIEW
This is the second of four Die Hard films.
The main character John McClane, of course, played by Bruce Willis.
John McClane is a tough, brave, strong and ready for anything sort of guy - as we saw in the first Die Hard!!
His story:
John McClane was once a New York City police officer.
His wife Holly played by Bonnie Bedelia finds a job in California and decided leave ...

Advantages: Big action, big-talking, big.... Bruce Willis Disadvantages: Hammy, cheesy, could still do with a few more explosions
Die Hard 2: Die Harder follows on a few years after the events of the first film, when John McClane managed to get out of the Nakatomi plaza alive, with his wife in tow. This time round, husband and wife are getting along better (surprising what a near-death experience can do for you), and John is feeling carefully optimistic about everything. This Christmas, his wife is coming to him, and he goes to the airport to meet her. And then.. well, another ...

Advantages: Fast-paced, spectacular, fairly enjoyable if your in the mood Disadvantages: Dodgy acting, weak script, little credibility and zero tension
...to be as good as Die Hard, it didn't have to be. Thanks to the success of the original, Die Hard 2 had a ready made audience that was virtually guaranteed to turn up for a second installment. All Fox had to do was to get the picture made and released before the interest wore off and they would almost certainly have a huge hit on their hands.
In the space of under 2 years, Fox had done just that. Walter Wagers novel "58 minutes" was hastily adapted ...

Die Hard 2? Remake of the original. Well that was easy, what's next? What's that - you want more? Grrrrr...well...alright.
Waiting to meet his wife at Washington's Dulles airport, Detective John McClane notices something pretty weird going on. Poking his nose into things that he shouldn't McClane discovers a plot to shut the airport down in the middle of the Christmas holiday rush. Led by disgraced soldier Colonel Stuart, a highly trained team ...

...standards set by the first Die Hard film. Based on Walter Wager’s novel ’58 minutes’ (something I didn’t know, another book I shall be purchasing soon!) the script isn’t all that bad either, but did you know that it cost $60 million to make – wow! I could have knocked something together with me and Bruce in for a lot less (although it wouldn’t have sold that well ;+) hehehe).
The music is Ok (ie. cue corny ...

DIE HARD 2
FILM ONLY REVIEW
This is the second in the Die Hard quadrilogy, following on the story of John McLean, a police officer from LA.
He has become a bit of a superstar after his work in the first film where he put his own life on the line to sort out a so called "hostage" situation in an office block, and ended up out witting the robbers.
This film is - like the first - set at Christmas, John McLean is meeting his ...

Advantages: Entertaining, lots of good action Disadvantages: not as "funny" as the first film
...its compared too much to Die Hard. Die Hard is not any normal film, its probably the best action film ever.
So Die Hard 2: Die Harder had alot to live up to, and the plot is fairly similar, its just an airport in Washington instead of a big building in Los Angeles. Both are set on Christmas Eve, and John McClane (Bruce Willis), wonders aloud exactly the same thing could happen to him twice. Just like a normal Christmas he says, "crawling around ...

Advantages: Bruce Willis Disadvantages: Same story, different location
I love the Die Hard series and if you were to ask me to rate the three, the first would be on the top of my list, followed by the third and Die Hard 2 would be the last. For me Die Hard 2 is the weakest of the three, but that don't mean that it's a bad film at all. It just means that the other two are a lot stronger than this one. I fell that the missing presence of Die Hard and Die Hard: With a Vengeance director John McTiernan is what makes Die ...

Advantages: Great action, stunts and acting Disadvantages: none
This is Bruces second outing as John McClane the New York cop that is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. This time he is fighting a highly organised group of terrorists in Washington Dc's Dulles International Airport. This leaves the door open for plenty of huge explosions and insane stunts but it is great. There are some particularly good shootouts and there is even agood twist in the plot that comes as a surprise. The acting is once again ...

...to be as good as Die Hard. That was the original, a breakthrough. Die Hard with a Vengence was the last in the trilogy, and was unique because of this. Die Hard 2 seemed to fill in a gap between the two films, with not really that much to say for itself, too much of the same really. So why did I like it so much?
The basic storyline: it’s a snowy Christmas Eve in Washington DC, terrorists have seized the international airport and thousands ...

Second place Review ofDie Hard 2 (DVD)by
NeilHudson
Advantages: Same as for the first film Disadvantages: Treads familiar ground
"Die Hard 2" is the usual Hollywood idea that if something made money the first time, it will do it again, so all the elements that made the original a success are in place, even down to Willis' wife tangling with the same reporter. Unfortunately the producers have changed exactly one element, its setting. In this film the boys use an airport for their adventure playground instead of a high rise office building, and the resulting loss of claustrophobia ...

Advantages: Disadvantages:
...worst of the trilogy of die hard movies.this one is set at an airport and has the same basis as the other one but is not as enjoyable due to the lack of person to person combat. it is an ok film though but i feel that many people were let down following the expectations set by the first die hard! this film could have been made a lot better and it is a shame that it was not as it promised so much and delivered so little.disappointing realy! ...

Advantages: Good action scenes, some impressive stunts Disadvantages: Some annoying characters and some poor effects
More of the same kind of action, this time McLane is in Dulles International Airport fighting to stop hi-tech terrorists as his wife’s plane circles overhead burning what little fuel they have left. The felons this time are military officers trying to spring a drug baron from custody when the extradition plane lands. This could be great, but there just isn’t the tension of the first film, and despite the odd touch of “indestructible hero” in the first ...
