Disadvantages: Gaping plot holes, "only-in-the-movies" stupidity from the stereotypical characters, some poor continuity with the sharks' size, not exactly logical

There's something in the water! I have recently watched "Deep Blue Sea" on Sky Movies, and highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in suspense/action movies. Disadvantages: daft characters

...of action and not much deep thought required. It manages to avoid descending into the cheese of say Armageddon. It also avoids stealing too many scenes from Jaws apart from the sharks deaths and the big middle speech. A recommended disc is turned into a highly recommended disc by the good extra's. Who has never, at the very least, heard of "Jaws"? Well, 'Deep Blue Sea' is the modern equivalent I suppose you could say. The story is about a team of reseachers who are based in the middle of the ocean on a floating laboratory called Aquatica. Advantages: More realistic sharks than in Jaws
Disadvantages: Bad acting, and completely unrealistic

...and indeed they were right. Deep Blue Sea returns to the man easting shark theme, and while the animatronics on the sharks themselves have improved, the story line and plot have become so much of a farce that no matter how realistic the sharks look, the film will never appear real. Disadvantages: Too much sliding around and the fact they have to show a girl in her UNDERWARE!!!!

...the big screen, which looks deep into the ocean, they notice something coming towards them. Yep you guessed it, its their friend on his streture being hurled towards them by the shark!! To compare Deep Blue Sea to Jaws doesn’t do it justice. Jaws was a phenomenon largely because it was so innovative at the time. When you hear that Deep Blue Sea is about sharks, and that it is subtitled “Jaws with attitude”, you can easily think that this is just another shark-attack film. It isn’t. This film is different. The film brings sharks back to the big screen with better special effects. The film is bascically set in a research base out at sea where a group of scientists are experimenting on Mako sharks to cure cancer. Naturally some accidents occur that make the base begin to sink and flood allowing the sharks to get in nad make themselves the dominant species in the base.
