Rudy the red nosed excon dosnt have a hope in hell
Review of Deception DVD by sarahbethy

Advantages: It's a great movie, not your typical action and with a great cast!
Disadvantages: Few DVD extras

“I had better sex in prison.” Rudy Duncan When you think of those season Christmas movie treats that have been given to us in the past, such classics as ‘Miracle on 34th Street’, ‘It’s a wonderful Life’ and a whole parade of Santa meeting Martians, Tim Allen and rude little kids who never say thank you. But cinema has never touched on the true meaning of Christmas until now! And what is the purest theme of the Christmas season, lying your arse ... Read review

An actionpacked unpredictable thriller
Review of Deception DVD by drusilla

Advantages: The humour, the plot twists, Ben Affleck and the cool ending
Disadvantages: Starts predictably

PLOT For 6 months, Nick, convict of manslaughter, has been writing to his pen-pal girlfriend, Ashley. He is to be let out in 2 days and at last they’re to meet in person. Then tragedy strikes and Nick is stabbed to death in a prison brawl. Best mate, Ruddy, a fellow prisoner to be let out at the same time, is heartbroken. On leaving he catches sight of the beautiful Ashley (Charlize Theron), waiting for Nick. He realises that, like his ... Read review

Deception leaves me cold
Review of Deception DVD by radamson

Advantages: Good story, plenty of suspense
Disadvantages: The casting could have been better

This film is a bit of chiller - with frozen landscapes and escapades in the snow, it makes you feel cold. So, yes, it left me cold, in that sense, but... I enjoyed the film, and will definitely see it again. It was originally called "Reindeer Games" in the US - not sure why, as I don't remember seeing any reindeer in the film - but perhaps they were trying to gear it towards the Christmas market, in some strange way. But, whatever, the name was ... Read review

Ben goes down a step
Review of Deception DVD by jimstrong

Advantages: Ben and Charlize
Disadvantages: Rather poor generally

...Reindeer Games, got swithched to Deception and back and forth until was chosen on. Ask yoiuslef why they would release a Christmas orientated film in mid-summer, doesn't exactly help the film out. Its about a guy who is writing to a gril on the outside (he's in prison). He is kiled the day before he gets out and Ben (no morals) Affleck takes his place - don't get ,me wrong i would have done the same thing!! The girl then has her way with him for most ... Deception
Review of Deception DVD by ros145

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

It was a good action movie. I would probably give 7 out of 10. The movie is about casino robbing and takes about 6 days and it would be hard to make 6 days story in 2 hours movie package. So there are some tippo here and there. It is unrealstic the end of the movie. The more unrealistic part was these people who never robbed in their whole life and then they become so fully committed. But then there were some good part in the movie. Enough violence ... Read review

Reindeer games
Review of Deception DVD by Zoe

Advantages: Solid performances, enjoyable story
Disadvantages: Nothing Special

The title of my review may sound a little confusing but it was the original title of this mediocre crime caper (dropped due a non Christmas release). What's good about it? Well Ben Affleck is extremely attractive as well as likable and believable as narrator and central figure. Charlise Theron is beautiful and lights up the screen. Gary Sinise is great as a baddy's baddy and the screenwriter previously brought us the fabulous Arlington Road. .What's ... Read review

Deceptive
Review of Deception DVD by Mark999

Advantages: Ben Affleck
Disadvantages: Weak characters, not enough action.

The only person that comes out of this film with any credit is Ben Affleck. What ever possesed Gary Sinise to take the part of a long haired lorry driver, on a first time heist, is beyond me. Ben Affleck puts a lot of energy in to his role and has the viewer routing for him, but I couldn't care less about the other charecters. The idea for the story is pretty good and the final twist is wasted on the 90 minutes that preceeded it. Unfortunately, ... Read review
