I am not describing the performances of the whole cast here in detail, but only the ones that really made a lasting impression on me.
Sir Peter Ustinov as _Mr Hercule Poirot_ - 5/5
Sir Peter Ustinov has his first appearance as Poirot here - and he certainly doesn't disappoint. By giving the character his very own personal note he delivers a persuasive performance in his portrayal of the ... ...Shaffer and I'm sure that Agatha Christie would have been very satisfied with his work, as he really captured the spirit of the book and succeeded in making _Death on the Nile_ both entertaining and thrilling. It is true that the film sometimes moves at a rather slow pace but before you can get annoyed with that things start to get more intense.

Advantages: Absolute masterpiece of it's time Disadvantages: Slightly over acted
...Film is an adaptation of Agatha Christie's mystery and is set in Egypt aboard a Nile steam boat. The film won an Oscar for the Costume Design and has some fantastic cinematography. If you know who Agatha Christie isyou will know that she was one of the greatest mystery writers of our day. She captures the mood and suspense in every story and they always have a twist in the tale and this is no exception. The film is a wonder piece of movie making ... ...a clean cut aliby Poirot has to use every ouch of his "little grey Cells" to solve the case. This was Peter Ustinov's first film as Poirot and he plays it excellently. I will admit it is one of my favourite Agatha Christie movies and I highly recommend it. ...
