Advantages: Wonderfully realised show from a comedic genius

Advantages: Larry David is a very funny character
Disadvantages: Can be EXTREMELY offensive (but then that's part of its charm)

...and an edge to it. CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM certainly fits that category and certainly wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but it certainly fits mine. Larry David is a US TV producer and writer in real life. He co-created Seinfeld, which I must confess I've never watched, and is listed by Guinness as having earned a grand total of $242 million dollars in 1998 through his work on the show. ...successful american sitcom in history. Curb is basically a day in the life of Larry who was personified as George Costanza in Seinfeld. Larry seems to get himself into somewhat uncomfortable positions with alarming regularity whether he likes it or not. When I first happened upon this show in a late night slot on BBC4 I was somewhat bemused. I had never heard of it and wondered if maybe it was actually a documentary or a fly on the wall type of Big Brother thing. In fact, it is a partially scripted sit-com where the characters actually play themselves.
