This film stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as Kathryn who is the step sister of Sebastian played by Ryan Phillippe. Togeather they form a manipulative, rich couple who get enjoyment from ruining other peoples lives.
The main plot concearns Sebastian's need to fulfill his ultimate conquest. He is tired of the easily seduced girls of the past, so he decides to try it on with the Headmaster's beautiful, virginial daughter, Annette played by Reese Witherspoon.
... ...a bet with her step brother. She bets that he cannot sleep with Annette. If he looses he must surrender his vintage Jaguar, but if he wins and sleeps with Annette, he gets to have the ultimate prize - Kathryn.
The film is saturated with sexual inuendos and sharp-witted one liners. There is an array of gripping sequences in a variety of different settings.
I personally don't think a great deal of 'Buffy', but if you are a fan, you'll love this film. ...

...is superb(see my review of Cruel Intentions Soundtrack), and the songs they used to express the plethora of emotions are excellent, especially the opening and closing scenes.
There are also a few great extras in the movie including the famous lesbian kiss between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair and the Naked Ryan Phillipe for any fans of his!

I have watched this film quite a few times and haven’t got bored of it yet. I like a film that makes you think and this one is very twisted!
The story is about a step brother and sister played by Sarah Michelle Geller and Ryan Phillippe. Being very anti-buffy I am not a big fan of Geller but she plays the part of the evil sister brilliantly! I think it’s the only time I have watched something with her in it that I have enjoyed. This daughter has just done an article on how she wants to wait until she’s married so it was never going to be an easy task! Meanwhile a new girl to the school is taken under the wing of the sister and she twists her mind getting her to sleep with her brother for ‘experience’. I was ready to hate this movie: what's this? A teen movie 'suggested' by a literary classic? Starring Sarah Michelle bloody Buffy Gellar, and pouty pretty boy Ryan Phillippe? This should have been utter rubbish, but emerges as sexy, compelling, funny entertainment.

On a Saturday i normally catch a film with my boyfriend form our local video shop. I had heard loads about this film with all my mates allways on about so i thought i'd give it a try!
There aren't that many characters in the film - theres Kathryn, Sebastian, Annette & Cecille.
Kathryn & Sabastian are brother & sister who live for wrecking other peoples lives.
Sabastien gets slightly bored of this and sets himself new hights of the headmater's ... ...Kathryns best friend but Kathryn want revenge on Cecille for seatling her boyfreind. The plot itself is really quite simple. Because Kathryns boyfriend dumped her for Cecille she wants revenge. Sebastains part in this is to 'awken' Cecille to her sexual desires. Sebastain also tries to take advantage of Annette who has the attitude to stay as she is and wait for the right person and all that. He finds this mission harder than he thought.

This film, an update of the old dangerous Liasons tale, was one I initially approached with a degree of trepidation - unsure as to whethere that tale would cope well with being updated for a modern era. I was thus pleasantly surprised with the results.
Sarah Michelle Gellar (of Buffy fame) plays Katherine, stepsister of the film's quasi-tragic hero Sebastian (Ryan Phillipe)- who sets her sibling the task of seducing virginal Reese Witherspoon (again ... ...performances are uniformly excellent. Gellar's superbitch is wonderfully catty and Phillipe is impressive as the boy who finally discovers the strength that can be drawn from releasing hitherto suppressed emotions - This film, whilst no 'Gone with the Wind' is a fine evening's entertainment, and I would recommend anyone (especially Buffy fans) give it a look ...
