Cruel Intentions is a slick, fast-moving film set around a group of youngsters who really don’t appreciate the effect their actions have on each other’s lives.
The primary selling point is Sarah Michelle Gellar, who as the devious Kathryn probably fulfils the fantasies of every “Buffy” fan out there. She’s a nasty piece of work, using people left, right and centre and snorting cocaine when nobody’s watching.
Ryan Phillippe is her step brother Sebastien, ... ...by his scheming step sister. There are rewards for the task – should he succeed he himself could bed Kathryn, but should he lose she would get his car.
Lots of twists, turns, scenes which will shock and some which will make you laugh. It is a film which draws you in, and you certainly start to take sides as the film progresses. Good entertainment but aware of the high passions and frequent use of bad language if it offends you. ...

This is one of my favorite films of all time! It is the story of rich half-siblings Sebastian (Ryan Phillipe) and Katherine (Sarah Michelle Geller). Bored with the urban, ultrasophisticated society they live in they make a wager over whether Sebastian can get the virginal headmasters daughter (Reece Witherspoon) into bed with him.
This an excellent tale of sex, manipulation, love and greed. The acting is superb from all characters and the plot although ...

This is the modern remake of the 1988 movie Dangerous Liaisons, based on the novel by Pierre Choderlos De Lados. The main story is centred around two gorgeous, rich, scheming stepbrother and sister, Sebastian and Kathryn. Sebastian (Ryan Philippe) is a game player and a risk taker. Bored with all the girls he has so easily seduced in the past he is restless for a new challenge. He finds one in the form of the new headmasters virtuous Annette (Reese ... ...seductive, power mad sister sees the perfect opportunity to turn it to her advantage. She makes a bet with Sebastian that he can’t lure Annette to his bed. If she wins she gets his priceless Jaguar, and if he wins he gets Kathryn. Unfortunately for Sebastian things don’t quite go to plan. He falls for Annette. This is a superb film and a must see it stars Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon. It’s rated 15 and is 93 mins long.
It’s about Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Sebastian (Ryan Phillippe) who are two attractive, rich, manipulative stepbrother and sister who play a dangerous game of sex and betrayal. Sebastian has easily enticed so many girls in the past into sexual activity so he decides on the headmasters ... ...plays hard to get, as he wants more of a difficult task, rather than just handed on a plate. Kathryn sees this as a chance for a bet, so she says to Sebastian, if you are unable to get Annette into bed, you will have to give up your car; if you have success in getting Annette into bed, you will win me.
You’ll have to watch and find out if Sebastian is successful or unsuccessful… Ryan Phillippe played a cruel, ruthless and cunning character.

This is the last time I let my Hormones dictate what I go and see at the cinema. There were only two reasons I went to see this at the cinema it starred Srah MichellE Gellar and I had a Virgin Mega Pass( meaning i didn't have to pay to see the film). It was always like this in the film business: good ideas never lived once. Since the very beginning, there have always been movie re-makes with new actors. During the last couple of years, we witness the birth of another type of remake: the plot modernisation. Action is moved in today and everything looks as modern as possible. The characters also can freely change their age, race and look. One of examples of a modernized remake is “Cruel Intentions” ... ...Choderlos de Lanclos called “Dangerous Liaisons”. It was filmed, even twice, keeping the costumes, decorations and surroundings the same. Here we can see the classical novel turning into a “teenage movie”. I have just finished watching Cruel Intention two, the sequel to Cruel Intentions. I thought that the first one was excellent, and therefore was looking forward to the sequel. however I was very disappointed.
It is set before cruel intentions one which is confusing and has completly different characters but with the same names as the first! This proves to be extremely confusing. The plot basically follows the first film, with everything happenign ... ...and the sequels, this works very well, making the films amusing. In this film , however it just makes it more confusing for the viewer.
The plot sees Sebastian arriving at his dads house in new york, to meet his 'goody two-shoes' step sister (Catherine), who turns out to be nasty and his stepmum. they go to school togetehr and slowly he reslises what she is really like.
It is especailly poor as the actors and actresses do not live up to those of ...

Cruel Intentions is a great film with a dark storyline and a dark soundtrack.
The cast of the film itself are young and gorgeous (the main ingredients of any film lately!) with great performances from Sarah Michelle Gellar (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Joshua Jackson (from Dawsons Creek)
