I've never really been a fan of Winter sports, so the entry of a Jamaican bobsleigh team into the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary pretty much passed me by. Cool Runnings is one of the Disney films I can watch over and over again. It has earned it’s place on the video shelf and will have it’s place on the DVD rack as soon as I come across it. Even if there wasn't it would be a perfect opportunity for fans to find out the real story about the real Jamaican Bobsled team. After watching Cool Runnings for the first time I couldn't stop laughing for hours afterwards, it's such a funny funny film. Based on a true story, Cool Runnings tells the story of the first ever Jamaican bobsleigh team and their efforts to win a medal at the Calgary Olympics in Canada. Cool Runnings is a great light hearted comedy for the whole family. It follows the story of four Jamaican guys who are unhappy with their lives and the jobs they have on the island. One of them a failed sprinter persuades the other three that they should combine together and form Jamaica's first bobsled team, even though there is no snow in Jamaica and certainly no ice for them to practice on.
