Advantages: Ah-Nuld!
Disadvantages: Makes you feel old.

Advantages: Arnie one liners, Arnie taking out stupid amounts of bad guys, lots of ridiculous weapons
Disadvantages: No special features on Region 2 DVD

...role of an unstoppable, fearless, commando as if it was made for him, dutifully wiping out all that comes before him in a manner of amusing ways. The concluding scenes, in particular, show an unscathed Arnold taking out an entire army of military equipped, war hardened, villains like a tidal wave overwhelming a helpless fishing boat. This film is just a pleasure because it is stereotypical Arnie, nothing can touch him, he looks fantastic(I think he's in the guinness book of records for having the most perfectly formed body ever), and the scene when he just wrenches the phone boothe out of the floor with the guy in it is priceless. It was never meant to be the best acted film in the world or the funniest but for pure testosterone fueled fun with classic Arnie you can't beat it....add that to the caribbean style music and 80s tinge and you might understand why I gave it 5 stars.

Advantages: Classic Arney and great action and humour.
Disadvantages: Rubish plot

...kill each of Matrix' former Commando friends, one of which is cunningly disguised as a car salesman. We are even led to believe that Bennet is killed so that an old friend of Matrix', General Kirby, will attempt to contact him and reveal his location. Arius is succesful and kidnaps Matrix' daughter Jenny in a ploy to force Matrix to do his bidding and kill President Velasquez, the new President of Val Verde. Disadvantages: No Commando 2

...brain dead action film but Commando really does work and is very enjoyble. The only disadvantage part in Commando is there was never a follow up "Commando 2" maybe The Terminator saga was more popular. Commando was released back in 1985 and in my opinon has yet to be beaten for shoot em up action (don't think it will) The acting is quite good given the fact that its not Arnold's Strongest point. Advantages: Packed full of classic 'Arnie-isms'

Commando is one for the die hard Arnie fan. Few others will truly appreciate the the gloriously cheesey, tongue in cheek, unashamed violence that characterised the Governators early career. Thats not to undersell Commando- it is without doubt a classic film. Personally this is my favourite Schwarzenegger film there is. Sure it doesn't have the production values or budget of later films like Terminator 2, but to be honest it does better with out them. Don't go watching this film expecting it to be sensible or believable, because it really isn't. What this film is, is concentrated, canned entertainment. I've been a big fan of the big man for many years, and i have to admit that Comando was always one of my favourites. With Arnold never about to win any acting awards ir's pretty easy to overlook the wonderfully entertaining performances from the "bad guys" in thisd film. Commando, the 1985 action film starring the muscular power of action start Arnold Schwarzenegger. This film was made right after Terminator and is a great action film for one of his first, later leads him to nailing the role in Predator. Advantages: brilliant action movie
Disadvantages: is a bit old

It all starts out when some of Arnold's old military buddies get gunned down and his daughter (Alyssa Milano ) then gets kidnapped. The bad guys do this in order to try to force Arnold to assassinate a South American president. Of course, Arnold isn't going to play by their rules and makes his escape from the flight he was supposed to take. Advantages: Action-packed, full of the best one liners around and requires little concentration
Disadvantages: The plot isn't exactly deep and meaningful, it isn't exactly present

...then why not. To sum up Commando is a film with plenty of action, plenty of one liners and enough replayability to stop you feeling like you made a bad decision purchasing it. Also the comedy appeal of this film is a great release from the world of modern film where comedy's end up being too sentimental and action films are political.
