This is a great film. Go and see it as soon as possible. Once you have seen it you will want to see it again. To tell you how good it is imagine Wallace & Grommit times ten. It is the best thing since slice plastercene. I was laughing all the way through film from the opening credits, down to the last name of the credits at the end. From the makers of Wallace and Gromit comes this excellent movie, in the same animation style and with the same kind of witty humor. While at times you begin to think this film was meant for children, the humor is complex enough and the entire film is enjoyable enough that you just don't care. While the whole thing oozes silliness, the story is engaging, the characters amusing but deep, and the jokes hilarious enough that it really pulls together ... Read review

...year old daughter was left Chicken Run in her Santa sack this year and I have to admit, I wish he'd left me one too. It's the best children's video I've seen in a long time. I won't give the story away but it's based upon the classic movie, The Great Escape and the chickens play their parts brilliantly. Chicken run as a really good film to buy because it is one of those films where you can watch it over and over again and still not get bored my it. i bought it in the first place bacause a watched it in the cinema and thought it was really good so i brought it. ...kept couped up inside a chicken farm. They must lay eggs or be given the chop. One chicken, Ginger, has had enough and makes several attempts to escape but fails miserably. The introduction of Rocky the Rooster brings hope into all the chickens on the farm that they'll fly out. The situation is made even more desperate by the delivery of a chicken pie making machine. Disadvantages: it is the worst film ever made and should be destroyed

...advice: if you see a Chicken Run toy chicken, gazing out blankly in some card shop or other...wring its neck....or even better, give it some Ozzy Osbourne style aggro, and bite its head off. It makes sense. Do it! I can't even remeber their names...whoever put this on the screen should be hung by their feet ... Read review

I first saw chicken run on London. It's about these chickens that live on a chicken farm, which is owned by Mr and Mrs Tweed. The Tweeds are very mean. Which I call that Meanys. The chickens want to escape. But how? The have tried and tried to escape. But they don't succeed by the angry guard dogs. Then Rocky the flying rooster comes. He tries to teach them how to fly. But they can't. So they tried to make a flying machine. This time they succeed. ... Read review

Disadvantages: it isn't very funny

...set on a 1950s Yorkshire chicken farm. Although it features voices from the likes of Hollywood heavyweight Mel Gibson, this is soon forgotten as the lack of jokes and the difficulty of giving characters to chickens becomes apparent. Fowl simply don’t have the personality of previous Aardman characters like Wallace and Gromit. The film plays it too straight and delivers far too few laughs but I doubt any of this will convince your kids they don’t still ... Read review

Chicken run is another ground breaking film in the history of, well, films. It is just one of those films which has a bit of everything - and will suit almost everyone. It is a classic tale of romance - this time with chickens. Classic. There of moment of comedy genious in this film, that will have you rolling round the floor. Chicken Run is a superb new movie from Nick Park, the creator of the Wallace and Gromit series. Its great mix of superb animation and exciting storyline make this one of the best movies the year so far. ...the animation and the characters. In Chicken Run the animation was good but the story was dismal. It was a montage of other famous movies put together, most notably, The Great Escape. This just plainly showed that the movie had no originality of it's own. Plus the target audience who would tend to watch this movie would not understand half of the references.
