I wasn't sure what to expect from this film, and finally gave in to my daughter's demands to go. I was overjoyed that I did. The film is beautifully portrayed- the characterisations are precise, the scenery is moody and fits the various scenes- action, 'romance' and sadness alike. The creators of Wallace and Gromit failed to produce an original film; the characters, story and effects were all run of the mill kind of stuff which we've already seen thousands of times in the original and the best Wallace and Gromit series. Love wallace and gromit? well you're gonna adore this film, made with all the family in mind, never a dull moment although it help if you have seen the great escape otherwise you won't understand all the jokes. This film has to be seen this year by everyone it just isnt aimed at children even adults will get a kick at the end of this film. you cant come out of this fillm without a smile on your face " when ginger and the other chickens keep planing to escape the ideas that they come up with will leave you in stiches ". Ardman animation goes to Hollywood. With a big ball of clay and a few million quit they manages to produce the best film of the year. This is Wallace and grommet meets the wartime escape classic the 1963 blockbuster The Great Escape but with chickens. Anyone from kids to grandparents will like this film; there is something for everyone. ...as them. I was right. Chicken Run is a good filn, worth seeing, with plenty of good parts. But it leaves you disappointed. It is not of the same standard as the Wallace and Gromit productions and the characters aren't as likeable. The main character Rocky, voiced by Mel Gibson is mildly annoying, and the numerous minor characters are what make the film. ...quite looking forward to seeing Chicken Run. After having sat through what seemed about 40 minutes of trailers (the film is only 80 minutes long so they had to pan it out somehow!) ...to make money by selling chicken pies. They invest in a pie making machine. They rule over the chickens with an iron rod. The chickens make many plans to escape but each attempt ends in failure.
