I have recently purchased the Charmed Series 1 DVD box set off eBay. My purchase was an item that I had wanted for a very long time, but had put off buying because when it came out it was so expensive - £39.99 for six DVDS. However, you can now get it in the shops for about £19.99 or cheaper if you are really lucky. However on eBay it can be really cheap to get a slightly used copy. Advantages: Easy viewing storylines
Disadvantages: Weak special effects

...projects (one of the reasons charmed took so long to come onto DVD was because SD had major control of the shows rights) and she was replaced with another sister, who filled the gap quite nicely and with a cleverly prepared storyline (the sister hidden from everyone in case one ever died) the show continued for more successful seasons. We are introduced to 3 sisters, Prue (Shannon Doherty), Piper (Holly-Marie Coombs) and Phoebe (Alysa Milano) who discover that upon the death of their grandmother and their reunion in ‘The Manor’ they have magic powers and are in fact witches. This amazing boxset first starts out with three normal sisters who noe stormy night are turned into witches with the power to freeze time, move objects and see the future. It is accompanied by the terrific work of the Smiths (how soon is now). The actresses live up to their characters and give a stunning performance in each episode. I am a serious Charmed fan but I didn't get into Charmed until series 4. After watching all the series from 4 on wards on TV I decided to go back and get the first three on DVD and I wasn't disappointed. This series sets the scene and begins to build the bonds between the viewer and the actors. ...you like witch adventures then Charmed is for you. Unlike Practical Magic and The Craft, there is a stong storyline that continues throughout all 8 series. The main plot is that you need the power of 3 to banquish the demons wether this is to actually fight them or to plan how to fight them. the best programme i have ever watched, my mate introduced me to this programme about three sister witches and i have been hooked ever since. There is 8 series altogether but this one is by far my favorite, and i was gutted that they have stopped filming it so i am now buying the boxsets so i can watch it when ever i want. i already have the 1st on and am planning on getting the rest.
