Charlotte's Web (Animated) (DVD)

...this no-one has commented on Charlotte's Web. It might be a bit long in the tooth (trotter? Fang?) , but it's a classic story, and the animated version is available on video, (or if you wait , probably on TV over a school holiday) and it's a good one. For anyone who doesn't know the story, it's about a pig who befriends a spider (Charlotte). The spider in its wisdom helps the Pig come to terms with its life and through listening to and watching ...
...into the cycle of life, the value of individuality and how important and wise talking spiders really are. Okay , it won't change your life unless you are under ten, but I would recommend it highly to anyone with younger children, but be warned, the ending, though touching, uplifting and educational, is a bit sad. I first saw Charlottes web when i was quite young and i absolutely loved it, Iwould watch it again and again but as time went on the video eventually got too old and was unwatchable. Many years later i aquired the film again and was surprised to find I still loved everything about the film. Some movies today. even ones that are made for children have not so nice words in them. With this movie i can put it on and know that the only thing my 3 year old will pick up from it is a good lession. I think that this movie shows that you can find a friend in some of the strangest of places. If you have ever read the book i would have to say that you will love the movie.
