The guns are gone, but the jiggle remains.
Charlie’s Angels, the big-budget, big-action, big-screen homage to the campy 1970s TV series, knows when to wink at itself and when to deliver the thrill-per-frame goods. As the new millennium Angels, Drew Barrymore (who also co-produced), Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu give those male stuntmeisters James Bond and Jackie Chan a serious kick in the teeth. In fact, Charlie’s Angels is so much fun to watch, it’s ...

Advantages: Good clean fun Disadvantages: Poor storyline
...of course about the excellent Charlie's Angels.
It is based around the hit TV show that launched the careers of Farah Fawcett (phwoar!!!), Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. The 3 beautiful ladies worked as Private detectives for a gentleman named Charlie who never reveals himself. The ladies perform all sorts of high energy, villain-chasing with the sexy panache you would expect.
Transformed to the Silver screen, 25 years after the show was released ...

Advantages: Super sexy, mega styling, nice soundtrack... Disadvantages: No story, bad acting, cheesy gags, ridiculous action, tacky product placement, a character coming back from the dead and pathetic baddies. Oh well, the TV series was rubbish too.......
...in a pretty lifeless way.
Admittedly, Charlie's Angels does look rather stunning, the whole film doused in new millenium super-chic, but this is hardly a saving grace. When it comes out on video, it might be worth a rent for a dose of pop culture cool, with its groovy styling and actually pretty funky soundtrack, but is probably better avoided if you prefer a film with a little more substance. You might even laugh when you see it....we certainly ...

Advantages: good fight scenes Disadvantages: is it a comedy or an action movie
The first joke in the film makes fun of TJ Hooker - The Movie with the line "Oh no, not another remale of an old TV show!". Yep - I'm afraid it is.
Charlie's Angels was one of the big films of 2000. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu star as the Angels and Bill Murray provides some light relief as Bosley.
The story is pretty thin - computer genius is kidnapped, the Angels find him but the specail encoding device he's invented has disappeared. ...

Advantages: Extremely funny, very entertaining grrl-power parody of the of the original Disadvantages: None that I can see
Remember the TV-show "Charlie's Angels"? It came on the air in the mid-70's and the original angelic cast included Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, and Jaclyn Smith. Charlie was a rich (and never on-screen) private investigator, who each week sent his angels off on some new and exciting assignment. The stars of the show were about as famous for their tight clothing as they were for their smarts. Fawcett, Jackson, and Smith were offered to appear in small ...

...sure about going to see Charlie's Angels until a friend dragged me on the day of its release. I have to admit I was highly entertained for the two hours. After seeing various trailers of scantily clad Drew, Lucy and Cameron, I was skeptical.
The buzz word of this film would have to be 'fun'. It comes across as a complete send up, withall three of the girls flicking their hair at every conceivble opportunity and an abundance of shots of Cameron's ...

Advantages: Stunning women, good acting, great action and sound. Disadvantages: Not a lot of plot!
...Murray plays Bosley who is Charlie's side kick. I am a great fan of Bill Murray but I have to say that he is totally wasted in this film. He only has about a handful of comedy lines throughout the film. Bill is a comedy genius and I just expected so many more comedy moments from him.
This film has so many good action scenes. If you are a fan of the Prodigy's "Smack my Bitch up" then you will love the alley scene in this movie.
Overall the ...

Advantages: drew and cameron nearly flashing their boobs about, nice lighweight, pacy lark Disadvantages: not much here for anyone wanting brain fodder
WARNING – This is a shamelessly sexist review of this movie!
If you are looking for a flashy, trashy, all-action movie full of fast cars, boats and high kicking gorgeous girls – look no further.
Charlie’s Angels has all these things and more! A bit like a low brow James Bond movie (heh – is there a ‘HIGH BROW’, James Bond flick ?)
The story….forget the story, you came for the babes didn’t you? ...

Advantages: Great sex appeal for the males! Disadvantages: Bit too spoof like for my liking!
Charlies Angels is based on the TV series, and I am afraid to say due to my young age I have never seen any episode of it! And after watching the film, I probly wont even bother! Although I am told, the tv series was nothing like it.
I am told that the series was fairly serious, and the film was definatly not that! All it was, was an upto date version of Austin Powers, with it being very 'spoof' like! It basicall takes the micky out of the Matrix, ...

Advantages: Comedy thats not ment to be taken to heart Disadvantages: Sometimes a bit to stupid but altogether very funny
Cast
The three main characters in the unremarkably funny film are Lucy Lui, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. The all play equal parts and all have there own unique contribution to the film, with the additional role by Bill Murry this film has more than its fair share of stars. Tim Curry, Matt Le Blanc and Tom Green all have an important part to play.
Plot
The Charlie’s Angel are out to get a high flying business man who has reportedly ...

Advantages: Light and Good hearted Disadvantages: Sort of bizarre
Fun frolics, pretty girls and energy are all this film is based on, but what else do you need?
It starts with a non-sensical, James Bond style, opener, involving a bomber who gets paid in diamonds to blow up a plane. But, surely a suicide bomber would do it for some fanatical reason and not to get paid? Also what is he going to do with the diamonds and why would the person paying him be on the plane that is going to blow up? I’m sure originally ...

Advantages: Good Story, Fantastic Fight scenes Disadvantages: Overacted in places (grasping at straws here)
How do you take on a classic 70’s TV series and turn it into a new feature film for the more demanding/critical audience of today?
(a) try to make a serious clone of the original
(b) step back, pause, have long hard look, then poke fun in a light hearted gentle tongue in cheek way
The 2nd is the best way to go, as you run the risk of offending the die-hard followers of the original. McG and his team achieve (b) to great affect in this ...

When I went to see Charlies Angels I was not sure about it, I had not seen any of the trailers, I had just seen the people who were in it. I thougth that it would be funny as Bill Murry is in the film and I can't see him doing a serious film.
Having seen the film now I can say that it is worth seeing. It is very funny in places. It is kind of on the lines of a mix between Austin Powers and Mission Impossible. It is not quite as stupidly funny as ...

Show me someone that said they liked Charlies Angles and i will show you a lier.
Did the producers of this movie have money to throw away or were they deliberatly trying to make extremely poor film?
From within the first 20 minutes of this film you will be able to predict what is coming next, the plot was poor, the acting was poor and it was a rip off of some really god movies.
The effect and fight scenes came straight from the Matrix and ...

Advantages: good action, a lot of fun Disadvantages: not the most original film out there
There are two camps of opinion on this film. One side will tell you that they loathe it in every possible way with its weak script, action etc. The other side will tell you that it's an incredibly entertaining popcorn flick.
Don't see Charlies Angels if you're expecting a solid film that makes you think. it's just a film that does exactly what it says on the tin. It has great looking girls, a pumping soundtrack and lots of explosive action. Personally ...
