The first joke in the film makes fun of TJ Hooker - The Movie with the line "Oh no, not another remale of an old TV show!". Yep - I'm afraid it is. Charlie's Angels was one of the big films of 2000. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu star as the Angels and Bill Murray provides some light relief as Bosley. ...sure about going to see Charlie's Angels until a friend dragged me on the day of its release. I have to admit I was highly entertained for the two hours. After seeing various trailers of scantily clad Drew, Lucy and Cameron, I was skeptical. The buzz word of this film would have to be 'fun'. ...Murray plays Bosley who is Charlie's side kick. I am a great fan of Bill Murray but I have to say that he is totally wasted in this film. He only has about a handful of comedy lines throughout the film. Bill is a comedy genius and I just expected so many more comedy moments from him. This film has so many good action scenes. Charlies Angels is based on the TV series, and I am afraid to say due to my young age I have never seen any episode of it! And after watching the film, I probly wont even bother! Fun frolics, pretty girls and energy are all this film is based on, but what else do you need? It starts with a non-sensical, James Bond style, opener, involving a bomber who gets paid in diamonds to blow up a plane. But, surely a suicide bomber would do it for some fanatical reason and not to get paid? How do you take on a classic 70’s TV series and turn it into a new feature film for the more demanding/critical audience of today? When I went to see Charlies Angels I was not sure about it, I had not seen any of the trailers, I had just seen the people who were in it. I thougth that it would be funny as Bill Murry is in the film and I can't see him doing a serious film. Having seen the film now I can say that it is worth seeing. It is very funny in places. Show me someone that said they liked Charlies Angles and i will show you a lier. Did the producers of this movie have money to throw away or were they deliberatly trying to make extremely poor film? From within the first 20 minutes of this film you will be able to predict what is coming next, the plot was poor, the acting was poor and it was a rip off of some really god movies. There are two camps of opinion on this film. One side will tell you that they loathe it in every possible way with its weak script, action etc. The other side will tell you that it's an incredibly entertaining popcorn flick. Don't see Charlies Angels if you're expecting a solid film that makes you think. it's just a film that does exactly what it says on the tin.
