...of course about the excellent Charlie's Angels. It is based around the hit TV show that launched the careers of Farah Fawcett (phwoar!!!), Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. ...pretty lifeless way. Admittedly, Charlie's Angels does look rather stunning, the whole film doused in new millenium super-chic, but this is hardly a saving grace. When it comes out on video, it might be worth a rent for a dose of pop culture cool, with its groovy styling and actually pretty funky soundtrack, but is probably better avoided if you prefer a film with a little more substance. ...cheek and Matrix style fight scenes the film doesn't appear to know whether to take itself seriously or not. There is plenty of action and the fights are well choreographed but it is hard to know whether this is a comedy or an action movie. The film just about pulls it off and it is fun, but the antics of the Angels is totally unbelievable. I'm too young to remember the TV series so I can't comment on how it relates to that. ...Murray plays Bosley who is Charlie's side kick. I am a great fan of Bill Murray but I have to say that he is totally wasted in this film. It starts with a non-sensical, James Bond style, opener, involving a bomber who gets paid in diamonds to blow up a plane. When I went to see Charlies Angels I was not sure about it, I had not seen any of the trailers, I had just seen the people who were in it. I thougth that it would be funny as Bill Murry is in the film and I can't see him doing a serious film. Having seen the film now I can say that it is worth seeing. It is very funny in places. It is kind of on the lines of a mix between Austin Powers and Mission Impossible. It is not quite as stupidly funny as ...
...Imposible but not the seriousness. There are also a lot of the same kind of camera shots that were used in the Matrix. These are used to good effect and make the film flow better.
