Production Year: 2000 - Action/Adventure - Director: Joseph McGinty - Original Language: English - Classification: 15 years and over - Starring:Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Bill Murray, Kelly Lynch, Tim Curry, Sam Rockwell, Crispin Glover
...Drew Barrymore as the infamous Charlie's Angels.
The opening scene is amazing and we get a sense of what to expect from the rest of the film. The emphasis is on definately more on style and action and not on the storyline.
The girls work for Charlie's detective agency and the films story is about their attempts to find a kidnap victim.
John Forsythe plays the never seen before Charlie, who we only get to see at the end.
The action in ...

Advantages: Good DVD, great special effects Disadvantages: Silly film that could have been so much more
It would appear that i am the only person who doesn't like this film. Sorry.
I saw this at the Cinema when it was released, I knew what to expect from it, Hard Girl action flick that really doesn’t take itself too seriously with a top cast and great special effects. This is exactly what I got, but to be honest I didn’t think it was all that.
Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu play the three Angels, helped along the way by ...

Wow, what can I say? This had everything to get your blood pumping. Fast flowing, frantic, explosive, all out action. One really had to wonder how the re-vamp of the 70's classic would fair in the modern world. The answer was a resounding, 'Very Well'.
What really made this film a must see really had to be the cast of Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, all accompanied by resident funny men Bill Murray and MTV crazy man Tom Green. One could ...

Charlie's Angels is THE worst film that I have ever seen. I am so sad that the only reason I did not walk out halfway through is that I wanted to review it on here! If this is Girl Power they can keep it. The film seemed to be a jumbled mess with no sense of direction, so maybe McG should stick to the GAP adverts. Trying to bring the 70's back to life with a mix of the year 2000 just does not work.
Cameron Diaz is the smiling Natalie, dim witted ...

Advantages: Good for most age groups. Disadvantages: None
What can i say! If you like the seventies, and you liked the original angels (Farah Fawcett etc), you're gonna love this.
The all new "Charlie's Angels", is great by comparison and boasts a full modern hollywood cast of stars.
The whole film hinges around three girls, Natalie (Cameron Diaz), Dylan (Drew Barrymore), and Alex (Lucy Liu) along with the infamous Bill Murray in the guise of Bosley, all of whom play their parts very well. Not only is ...

Advantages: A generally good cast; well choreographed screen action; good variety of music. Disadvantages: Attempts to be too clever for its own good; has no concept of pacing; not all music tracks are suitable.
To be honest I was not quite sure what to make of ‘Charlie’s Angels’ the first time I saw it, but then a friend told me that the director, enigmatically referred to as “McG”, had previously been responsible for only music videos. Now that explains a lot.
Charlie’s Angels is essentially a very flippant, reasonably enjoyable and relatively disposable piece of cinema, an action flick content to poke fun at its own ...

You may be familiar with Charlie's Angels from their TV series from the 70's - big hair, big action and even bigger... missions. Following on from big screen adaptations like The Avengers and Mission: Impossible before it, Charlie's Angels is a brand new, super-stylish silver screen update with plenty of explosions, stylish locations and absurd plotlines. And it is absolutely great.
The three girls in the Charlie's Angels movie are Cameron Diaz, ...

Advantages: good sound and picture, goofy fun Disadvantages: watch once extras
Charlies Angels was a film that split audiences. Some loved it, some hated it and some were indifferent. I always went into seeing it of the opinion that it wasn't going to be high brow entertainment with a solid plot. No what I wanted was good looking girls kicking ass and Bill Murray being deadpan as ever. I got both and naturally I was happy.
The angels (Barrymore, Liu and Diaz) are brought in on a kidnapping case where a young software tycoon ...

The time has come, my friends, to call a halt to the endless retread of Sixties and Seventies pulp TV series, adapting and adopting them for the gratification of a 90’s cinema audience (well, we never did suss out what the 2000’s were, did we? The Noughties, the Zeroes, doesn’t sound quite right does it? Well, I’ll stick to the Nineties and accept the flaw until we come up with the finished article. Now, what exactly was I talking about… Oh yes…)

Admittedly I was a little sceptical about this film, I never really go for films that are hyped to death. But as my friend had brought Charlie’s Angels on DVD round, I thought I might as well watch it. Now I’m from the generation that doesn’t actually remember the original, but I had heard lots about it. I knew it was a film about 3 kick-ass girls kicking ass.
Anyway I watched the DVD on sat night and even as a sceptic I thought ...

Thank God for Skittles.
Picture this: Bunch of surprisingly sober 14 year olds, both sexes, who are participating in a 'stay up all night' style party. The first time they had done a party like this, it had rocked - because it was hosted by yours truly. This one was going fairly well up until about 10, when it was too dark to play Twister outside anymore, and all 14 of us straggled into the house to watch the movies that had been obtained for ...

Well, the sequel to this movie is about to be released, so I thought it time to take this poorly written op on the first movie and try to improve upon it.
First of all, yes, I must admit, I went to see this film! But to tell you the truth, I wasn't in the least bit disappointed. Nope. Not even a little bit. Why? Simple. If they had tried to take themselves seriously, this film would have fallen on its face. As it was, from the first moments in ...

This film totally rocks! Whether you're a bloke watching it and pretending not to eye the women up (my husband does this!) or a woman watching and thinking, wow, i wish i could bend like this, there is definitely something for everyone!
RATING:
This film is rated a 15, due to the fight scenes in it. There is hardly any swearing in it, and no sex scenes, apart from a bit of kissing here and there!
STARRING:

Advantages: Cameron Diaz and...that's about it Disadvantages: Poor acting, poor script, poor plot, rubbish villain, totally unbelievable, a shameless rip-off - mocks the memory of the much, much better MI and Matrix
Charlie's Angel's falls into the fatal trap of failing to create a balance between its two main elements - that is to say 'action' and 'comedy'. Bascially it's not funny enough to be a really effective spoof (like a Naked Gun ) and so it ends up as just an embarrassing action movie, with weak jokes and a bit of totty to spice things up a little. Thank God for Cameron Diaz, as without her it really would not be worth the price of the film it's reeled ...

The guns are gone, but the jiggle remains.
Charlie’s Angels, the big-budget, big-action, big-screen homage to the campy 1970s TV series, knows when to wink at itself and when to deliver the thrill-per-frame goods. As the new millennium Angels, Drew Barrymore (who also co-produced), Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu give those male stuntmeisters James Bond and Jackie Chan a serious kick in the teeth. In fact, Charlie’s Angels is so much fun to watch, it’s ...
