Brilliant Bond - Casino Royale

Advantages: A True Bond Classic
Disadvantages: A long poker game which may be prone to bordedome

...of Ian Flemings classic novel Casino Royale. This movie has more twists and turns than a ballroom dancer which makes this blockbuster epic a classic cliffhanger of a film. The film starts with Bond being granted his license to kill, after completing his two kills. Then with his new license he is sent to investigate a bomb maker abroad. In typical Bond fashion he brakes into a foreign embassy and kills the bomb maker, provoking a stereotypical Bond ...

should have upped the ante

Advantages: Daniel Craig
Disadvantages: Weak plot

...write a glowing review of Casino Royale, bringing comparisons to the masterful predecessors such as Goldfinger, Live and Let Die and Tomorrow Never Dies. It has so much promise, Daniel Craig himself is a fine actor and encompasses the spirit of Bond totally convincingly. His performance portrays a slightly rougher bond, seeing as this is based as a prequel at the start of Bond\'s career, his jumps in pursuit of his target at the start of the film ...
...makes mistakes and errors in judgement, ultimately portraying a more human Bond. The story is good too, but my main criticism is it looses pace far too soon. the climax to the film appears to come about half an hour too early, which left me thinking for the last half hour, when is this going to end? As far as bond films go it isn\'t bad, it has everything in it you would expect. Fast action, fast cars (albeit all too briefly), beautiful women. But ...

...writteb by ian fleming and casino royale was the 1st one is ever wrote. Casino Royale takes a look at James's 1st mission after he had been promoted to 007 status. Bond...Reinvented

Advantages: More ingredients for a film
Disadvantages: More soppy parts if your a fan of normal bond's

I am not usuallly a big fan of James Bond but this film certainly rates high on my list of the best movies i've seen; it includes all the best feaures that a good film would include not just the action and explosions that most bond's feautre. It has romance when bond falls in love with a beutiful women it has tragedy: the writers no shakespeare but i know a few girls that cried at the end! It has a little bit of comedy as usual there are witty ...

Bond is back and Better than before

Advantages: A great start to a new era in the Bond Franchise
Disadvantages: Much too long a wait for the next film in the same style

...to be a retelling of Casino Royale, I was intrigued but also worried that it would be a horrible mess. As more was released about the film, how it was going to take a darker road, and was to be treated as the birth of a new era of Bond, it started to become clear that this was going to be something rather different to what had come before. From the word go, this film is vintage Bond, chases, violence, sharp dialogue, it's all there (in fact it's ...
...little of the poetic license with regards the physical action). And as for Mr Craig.... well I admit I was wrong, he IS James Bond, he truely looked, spoke, ran, jumped, breathed...lived the part, he IS Bond!!! There are some flaws with the film but mainly due to the origins type nature of it, however on the whole it's an exciting and thrilling film and opens Bond up to the viewer unlike previous films, so we see what makes him tick and what has ...

Bond to please!

Advantages: Well acted and good storyline.
Disadvantages: Fanatics will find flaws.

Mr Bond is back, this time it's the debut of Daniel Craig in the role of Britain's favourite secret agent. Personally Bond for me isn't a big deal, I know there are many fanatics of the films but I'm really not one of them. I've caught a few of the older ones on a rainy bank holiday afternoon and I've never been that impressed. Maybe at the time they seemed better but I just find them dated and quite corny. My favourite Bond is Goldeneye so that ...
...about the Genre! Anyway, This film basically revolves around a card game, sound boring? Surprisingly it's not. The movie starts with Bond heading to Madagascar to spy, all goes a bit pear shaped and as usual Bond ends up doing his own investigating. I won't tell you all which happens as it may spoil parts for you but Its fair to say that Craig was a fantastic Bond, I preferred him to Pierce Brosnan though I do think Goldeneye was the more enjoyable ...

Casino Royale (2006)

Advantages: Follows the book.
Disadvantages: It has an end!

The first Bond film with Danial Craig in the title role, and it is well and truly worth every penny. This film is very much a back to basics for bond, he isn't overloaded with hundreds of gadgets. He takes the role back into a serious light last seen, for me at least, in Timothy Dalton. The film doesn't rely heavily on comedy like in the Roger Moore era and to a lesser extent the Pierce Brosnan era. Also what is commendable is the fact that this ...

Bond is Back- with his hair dyed!

Advantages: Daniel Craig, opening scene, Action and fight scenes
Disadvantages: Part in casino may become a little tedious for some

Casino Royale goes back to the beginning of James Bond's career. MI6's newest recruit (Daniel Craig) must take down a man known as "Le Chiffre" (Mads Mikkelsen), a money launderer for terrorists who is raising operational funds at a high-stakes poker game in Casino Royale to prevent himself getting into money troubles. This is the first Bond adventure since 1987 to be based on one of Ian Fleming's original novels. Special Features: * Becoming ...

Best Bond ever?

Advantages: A non stop roller coaster of a movie with excitement, great dialogue and no gadgets.
Disadvantages: A reboot to the franchise always messes with my geeky continuity loving

So admit it? Who, like me, was shocked and disgusted when they heard that Daniel Craig was going to be the next Bond? I yelled at the television screen that it was the worst casting mistake since Timothy Dalton! No, worse than that, George Lazenby was going to get a run for his money. It wasn't going to stop me going to see the film, of course. I am a firm believe that, if you are going to complain about someone then at least have the courtesy to ...
...justified? The short answer is no. The long answer is, Daniel Craig potentially gave the best portrayal of Bond ever. I was hooked in the first five minutes (after thinking the beginning was bordering on tacky and then warming to it). And after that it was non stop. From the chase scene at the beginning to the emotionally exhausting and adrenaline pumping climax the film had me in its grip. And imagine my excitement at the thought that the next one ...

Casino Royale Movie...

Advantages: Fantastic...
Disadvantages: Nothing to say...

...Fleming’s first James Bond book Casino Royale in 1953, but my own take on the novel’s opening as it fitted perfectly the way I felt as I awaited the film itself. Although several of the most well informed Bond fans I know had given the film their seal of approval, this was still a big deal as each of those masterminds all listed a different title as “the ultimate Bond film”. Bond films, like the books, are a personal thing. I wanted to make up my ...
...ravine, but in love. Both Casino Royale and OHMSS feature two of the series most memorable female characters. The reason that these two films now find themselves in the upper echelons of the Bond movie franchise is because, bar sticking to the Fleming source, they both feature superb actresses playing these strong female roles. Diana Rigg as Tracy may not be drop dead gorgeous or possess a name which has a double entendre, but a strength of character ...
