Review of Carry On Cowboy (DVD)

Carry On Cowboy was made in 1965 & was the team's chance to get to play cowboys & indians ! I really can't stand Westerns, so this put me off a bit, but the Carry On team did a pretty good job overall. Sid James & Angela Douglas are the stars of the film for me, with Sid playing Johnny Finger / The Rumpo Kid very convincingly, proving what a good actor he really was. Angela Douglas provides a touch of glamour as Annie Oakley, but also gets to do ...
...! Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks to the film. Bernard Bresslaw's huge talents are wasted as Little Heap, with Charles Hawtrey only coming off a bit better as Big Heap. Kenneth Williams is also irritating as Judge Burke. So it has its faults, but it's pretty good & is worth watching. ...
