I really enjoyed seeing the film, I was with my partner and a couple of our girl friends, we got free Yorkshire tea-bags and shuffled off to see the film. I had heard lots of trailers and ops on radio 4 so had a feel for the back-ground and the story. ...than Womens Institute, the tasteful calendar will feature members of the WI 'naked' but with their bits discretely covered by more traditional WI pastimes - cooking, flower arraning etc. After overcoming various hurdles, the calender proves an overwhelming success and £1000's are raised for the hospital, more than enough for a new sofa - but at a price.... I had to see this film being a Yorkshire girl myself. The plot whilst well known to many was certainly enhanced by the spectacular Yorkshire country side and the fantastic cast. Helen Mirren added spice to the W.I and gave it's image a well needed boost. Maybe as i am of the younger generation, i do not completely appreciate the importance of what these ladies did. but i found the film to be very hyped up and not really live up to the expectations that i had. I do admit that there were some parts that were very very funny.
