...straight to an isolated log cabin where they revel in the solitude and new found freedom. Whilst the two couples spend some time getting a bit closer, the fifth member of the group, Bert, takes off into the woods with a shotgun and a serious intent to shoot some squirrels. His aim is pretty awful, but whilst he fails to bag himself any rodents he is horrified when a stray shot hits a man. As the man rises from the floor, it is obvious that there is ...

I went over to say hi, and he told me that the 5 of them were on a trip after college ended, a sort of final party affair. He introduced me to the others – Marcey (an attractive brunette) ...

...doesn't care who you are? Cabin Fever shows human nature in a brilliantly constructed, fast paced and delightfully gory couple of hours.
Group hysteria has always been the horror writer's most treasured plot device and Cabin Fever takes it to another level. When a group of students head out into the woods in pursuit of a little fun no one blinks an eye, but as the audience would expect from a traditional horror film it all ends in the inevitable. ...

...to find a remote mountain cabin where they can hang out and party like it's 1999. Unfortunately, they don't get the chance to party like it's 1999 (if that was the plot of the movie it would make for quite an interesting horror flick) and instead they bump into a man who is rapidly dying of a flesh-eating virus (which makes him look well rancid, naturally). Being the kind, concerned, thoughtful students they are they do the noble thing to a man clearly ...

...name a few.
In this genre Cabin Fever doesn’t really deserve a place. It’s a shocker, it gory and its sickening. The scares are few and far between and all the characters are unlovable, vain, arrogant and selfish. Not one of them endeared themselves to me and so it happens that I didn’t really care whether they caught the disease or not.
The premise is this. A group of horny teenagers rent out a cabin in the woods (sound familiar already). ...

...homage to that cheesy genre.’ Cabin Fever’ has all the essential ingredients of that era in the mix of arrogant, boisterous college kids, a rampant virus with zombie potential and piles and piles of Kensington gore.
There are references to the classic and creepy’Evil Dead’ and the ludicrous slasher films of those silly seventies a plenty, and it’s hard to see what original ideas director ‘Eli Roth’ has ...

On the first day at the cabin, 3 of the twenty-somethings go on a wonder and explore the surrounding woods. Cleverly, one of them decides to wonder off alone and shoot things!
On his travels he accidentally shoots an injured man, believing him to be some sort ...

College is over for five friends. Karen (sluttish), Jeff (obnoxious), Paul (cutesy), Marcy (sweet), and Bert (dumb). They head off into the woods for a chill out and party holiday. But wait…oh dear we have barely unpacked and jumped in the sack before we all begin to catch a horrifying, ...

...5 friends stay in a cabin in the woods, but things do not go as planned when one of them gets infected with a contagious flesh-eating virus. The question is, who else in the group has it? The fear of infection driving them to turn on each other, can they stick together long enough to get help before they all die?
My Opinion:
Before going to see this film, I had heard and read nothing but good about it. The general consensus was that Cabin ...

Meanwhile we come across The Hermit who finds his dog dead and consumed with strange disease that appeared to have been eaten from the inside out (gruesome).

Definately an interesting film!
I wanted to see it partly because there haven't been enough tacky horrors since the 80s, and partly because I remembered Rider Strong in his Boy Meets World phase (great girly reasons for film viewing).
I sat down with the idea that it was going to be tacky, and that I would get laughs - NOT that it was a quality scary horror film... This seems to have been a good plan.
Starts off your typical teen horror - ...

Advantages: good fun Disadvantages: the film doesn't know what it is!
The problem with Cabin Fever was not the film, but the way it was advertised. It is set up as one of the scariest films of all time, when it is in fact a mixture of classic horror and very black humour.
It starts very well, preparing you for some big scares. The sound of flies buzzing is used instead of music over the credits and there's a suitably gory beginning. We slid down our seats, ready to be terrified. And for the first three quarters of ...
