Advantages: New packaging is sturdier than the original, first season of an excellent series Disadvantages: Picture quality not quite as good as it could have been.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is/was a hugely successful American television series which ran for seven seasons and is now sorely missed by many (including myself). All seven seasons have been released on DVD not once, but twice. The first release was in fancy collectors editions, which is what I personally own, but the more recent releases are in a amray style case (normal style), which looks far plainer but is much cheaper. While I personally own the ... ...Buffy Summers would give anything to be a normal high school student, unfortunately that's something that's just not meant to be. For Buffy is the one girl in all the world, imbued with superhuman strength to aid her in her battles with vampires, demons and other supernatural nasties. She is the Slayer, scourge of the demon underworld, and she's moved to Sunnydale, which just happens to be sited slap, bang on the Hellmouth.....let the battles ensue....

Advantages: Great characters, witty dialogue. Only 12 episodes Disadvantages: Cheesy, predictable, might put people off Buffy completely.
When Buffy was on TV, I used to be a pretty big fan. However, recently I realised that I only started watching Buffy about half way through, and I've never seen anything from the first season. In all honesty, I probably would have been a lot happier if I would have stayed this way. The basic plot is pretty simple: Buffy is a 16 year old girl who moves to Sunnydale. She is the Chosen One, chosen to fight vampires and save the world, because it just ... ...surprised to know that actually, Buffy has to fight all kinds of evil, including witches and a giant praying mantis. Yes, a giant praying mantis. There are a lot of episodes in the season that introduce enemies that were just too ridiculous for my liking, ranging from robot demons to hyena-possessed children. These enemies were so ridiculous to me that it was hard for me to even conceive that they could be a threat to anyone at all. I think that ...

Advantages: You can relive the Buffy experience over and over Disadvantages: none at all
...amazing 7 year run of Buffy the Vampire slayer. For those of you who watched the Buffy Movie with Kirsty Swanson and think god not a series of it. The movie doesn't even touch the series.
From the creator Joss Whedon comes an amazing Series with a cast including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan, David Boreanaz, Anthony Stewart Head and many more.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer is based around the story of Buffy Summers, an until ... ...forces of darkness. Buffy and her mom move to Sunnydale because her Mom got a new job.
Of course been in a new town means new school. Sunnydale high in fact. She enrols only to find out that her slaying days that she thought were over actually are not as the new Librarian Mr Giles is actualy her new watcher ... so much for the new start, but i guess thats what happens when you go to a school on the hellmouth. Due to Buffys strange behaviour and ...

Advantages: The scoobies friendship os a highlight. The 90's charm Disadvantages: Looks a bit cheap, has some awful episodes...
Originally I owned Buffy seasons 2-7 in the bible packaging that they used before this cheaper one, however, since the Season one DVD in the older packaging was made quite some time ago, it was hard to find one in good condition (being a product perfectionist) so I decided to buy this packaging instead, they've done quite a good job with it too, it could have been horrendous, but it all blends well due to great colours. I suppose the plastic flippy ... ...all a bit insane. But Buffy dragging a metal clawed vampire out of the sewers so he can give directions to the mantis' house is quite amusing....
The Puppet Show: Yes, another insane on in which a human is resurrected as a carnival puppet in order to get revenge on the 9 demons who killed him......Cough, cough. Its not all bad though, the scene with the demon locking Giles in on of those head chopper offers is actually quite tense.
Nightmares: ...

Advantages: beginning of a legendry series Disadvantages: kinda dated
...is a must have for buffy fans, it is the introductory piece to all things buffy. The first season tells the story of Buffy's arrival to the hellmouth, more commonly know as Sunnydale Calafornia. The first two episodes Welcome to the Hell mouth and The Harvest introduce the viewer to the slayer. Buffy becomes friends with Willow and Xander in these first episodes, and also to another student named Jesse, who ends up being turned into a vampire, i ... ...with the dramatic finale where Buffy slays the master, not before dying herself of course. I have to say Sarah Michelle Geller displays some excellent acting in this first season, although she was obviously quite young when it was filmed. I especially love her performance int he final episode of the series when she discovers her iminate prophesised death.
This season does look kinda dated now, especially costume wise, however I found i can overlook ...

Advantages: Brilliant Show Disadvantages: Only 12 episodes in this season
Season one of Buffy The Vampire Slayer was just the beginning (well after the film anyway), the season that we meet all the characters:
Buffy Anne Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar): The Slayer
The one girl in all the world chosen to fight the vampires and demons, to rid the world of its evil.
Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head): The Watcher
Member of the Watcher's Council, the watchers are the people who guide and train the slayers, tell them everything ... ...best friend; he also helps Buffy in her fight against evil and brings some comedy to the group.
Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter): The Cheerleader
Cordelia was the first to make friends with Buffy when she started at her new high school, although she doesn't hang around with Buffy she does help out on the odd occasion.
Angel (David Boreanaz): The Vampire With a Soul
Angel is a 200+ year old vampire who was cursed with a soul, now he helps Buffy ...

Advantages: Great series, funny and thrilling. Disadvantages: Some of the effects are a little outdated.
...true must have for any Buffy fan, this is the series that started it all. Join the original 'Scooby Gang' of Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and Xander (Nicholas Brendon) along with Buffy's watcher Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) as they embark on their very first adventures together in the somewhat ironically named 'Sunnydale', through the trials and tribulations of being teenagers, the responsibilty of being a butt-kicking ... ...'hell' that is high school. The special effects might not be wonderful by todays standards - but it is what it is. Great fun to watch the characters as they started out on somewhat hesitant ground, and some of the most original and great work of BTVS. Not to be missed. ...
