It is a very funny film and one particular incident involving blue soup will never be forgotten. ...Oeuf" and the scene where Bridget leaves her job and dresses Daniel down in front of the whole office. Or maybe it's the romance with Mark where she chases him down the street in just a vest top and leopardprint knickers! I first started to learn about dear bridget, when the articles were written in The Independant. very quirky and funny they made me excited to wait 2 weeks for the next thrilling installment. Then the book, which still had me laughing. I usually am always the first to say "The book was way better . . ." But no, this film was wicked. I loved it. At one point I was crying with laughter. This film managed surprise me no end - a film in which Hugh Grant is actually good ! Probably 'cos he plays a 'bad guy' rather then the floopy fringed twat he usually plays... Let me begin by saying Bridget Jones's Diary is a damn fine film. And that is a view coming from a male who is rating what most would deem a 'woman's' film. There are no special effects with a chisel-faced hero; there is no whip-wracking moodiness of every man's heroism, fending off poisonous snakes and killer spiders deep in the jungle.
