...the perfect man. Okay sums Bridget up perfectly.
Never read the book, never knew it existed although knew the name Bridget Jones from somewhere but like usual can never put my finger on it.
Renée Zellweger, know her, was in love with her for a short period of time (yes I admit it) she is cute and for once we have an American who can actually (almost) pull off being british which let’s face it the rest of the population want to be…right? ...

...and ever so slightly neurotic Bridget Jones.
The movie begins at a New Years party at the house of Bridget's parents, where she makes some resolutions. Namely, to cut down on the cigarettes, to get her body into shape and to find herself a decent boyfriend. Now in her early thirties, Bridget has been quite successful with her career - she has a good job with a publishing company. She also has an attractive flat in London and a good circle of friends. ...

...came from us laughing at Bridget with her calorie and Marlboro Light counting and her Mr. Darcy obsession. The dichotomy of such an inane column in a relatively highbrow newspaper was funny. Just so you know there was a point when this gag worked.
Then came the books, essentially a collection of Fielding's columns. This too had some merit and due to a fluke of timing became hit beyond all proportion. 'Chick lit' (my most hated phrase of all time) ...

...(of Jerry Macguire fame) is Bridget Jones. 32 going on 33, single, looking for a man, wine-swigging, chain smoking, neurotic and not exactly in her ideal job. Sound familiar? Any female over the age of 25 will find at least one thing in common with Bridget, and we've all done at least one of the things that she manages to blunder her way into during the film. There were quite a few guys in the audience as well, who also laughed (not just a chick flick), ...

Acting (4/5)

Let’s not slate it entirely, the acting was without a doubt good:

...In this extreme circumstance Bridget Jones was favourable.
Oh I hate the way that everyone else was right- the film was actually very good and very funny. Renneé Zellweger (excuse my spelling) was a fantastic Bridget Jones (although the put-on English accent was really irritating) and Colin Firth and Hugh Grant were brilliant supporting actors. If anyone doesn't know by now, Bridget Jones is a 32 year-old single woman and the film follows the incidents ...

...opinions will know, I adore Bridget Jones. She’s toe-curlingly embarrassing, neurotic and very very funny. The books make me laugh out loud (not very handy when you’re reading in bed and Darling Hubby is trying to sleep!!) and I was so looking forward to seeing the movie adaptation; I hadn’t been this excited since Christmas (and there wasn’t a turkey curry buffet in sight, thank God!!)
So we saw it. And it was…it ...

...2 hours since I saw Bridget Jones Diary and I feel I must share my opinion on it.
I am a man of 22 years and haven't read the book this film was based on. The character of Bridget Jones is someone that women can relate to a lot better then men. But even so I enjoyed the movie a great deal.
We meet Bridget (Zellwegger), a thirty-something woman who's search for a man has been empty for a few years. She's a chain-smoking, booze drinking girl ...

The film Bridget Jones’s Diary is from the book of the same name written by Helen Fielding. I would certainly recommend reading the book first before seeing the film as it is more detailed and quite a lot of the plot is lost in the film.

Daniel Cleaver – Hugh Grant

Bridget Jones Diary has been classed as the ultimate chick flick, so as a guy you can imagine the horror look on my face when I arrived at the cinema, expecting to see a totally different film only to be told the tickets for said diary film were already purchased. I consoled myself with a vast quantity of chocolate from the kiosk and went into the auditorium.
After the trailers (which I was looking forward to more than the film) it began, and I ...

Moreover, the diary is very nearly her ultimate downfall as she negotiates her way through a complicated series events, most of which seem to involve her (eventually ex-)boss, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) and Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).
But still, the difficulty with the underlying diary form is finding a way to sustain the dramatic movement and intensity. The film is ...
