...this week were empathizing with Bridget and in sync with the movie every step of the way.
But the film also shows the hand of her co-writer, Richard Curtis, who gives it some of the sophisticated irony of his "Four Weddings and a Funeral," and the script otherwise strikes so many universal chords that the men in the audience were enjoying it almost as much.
The first-time director is Sharon Maguire, whose background is in television documentaries ...

Bridget Jone’s Diary, probably the biggest film this year (so far!) and a film that I wasn’t really all that interested in seeing, but my girlfriend did (always the way isn’t it fellas!). So, I went to see it with my girlfriend earlier this week and must say that even though I thought I wasn’t going to like it, I was very impressed!
Bridget Jone’s Diary is all about Bridget (hey you would never had guessed that if ...

...immediately hate each other and Bridget turns to her smooth and smarmy boss, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) and embarks on a turbulent relationship which all ends in tears.
Bridget changes her job to becomes a TV presenter and then has to choose between Darcy and Cleaver while her group of friends look on and offer advice that ranges from useless to extremely foul mouthed. Oh, she has to get her parents back together as well.
As you can see, this ...

...have any great expectations about Bridget Jones’s Diary and so I didn’t come away feeling disappointed.
Renee Zellweger (Jerry Maguire, 1996) stars as the thirty-something single woman, tired of her present life and eager to find new excitement, in particular an ‘extraordinary’ relationship. It’s the same old story, borne straight out of the ‘Does my bum look big in this?’ Arabella Weir literary tradition ...

...have never read Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's(that's how they spell it!) Diary, but after seeing this film, I think I will make it my business to do so. I was expecting something, how could you not? Every other person has been willing to sing its praises, but after Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, I wasn't expecting to laugh that much. The funniest film in cinema I have seen was Something about Mary, but this film is funnier by a thousand ...

...in the life of thirty-something Bridget from her perspective through the writing of her diary. We get to experience every ounce of Bridget's thoughts and each one is an absolute comedy gem.
The best aspect of the film is the huge range of characters, though it must be remembered that at all times we are seeing things through the eyes of Bridget. There's the nasty 'Daniel Cleaver' who Bridget can't resist and then there's all round nice bloke 'Mark ...

...add my contribution to the Bridget Jones opinion craze! Having paid a visit to the cinema last night, i would definetly recommend each and everyone of you go and see this film. No, its not a cinematic masterpiece, and perhaps the accents are a little too 'English', but this film is light hearted, and has inspired me to go out and make sure i do all those mad things (ie running down a snowy street in a pair of leopard print knickers and little else!) ...

Renee Zellweger (aka Bridget Jones) plays the part of an English thirtysomething year old office type lady, come singleton diarist who is looking for her ideal man. That is basically ya lot! Sounds pretty boring right!? Well your wrong!!
It amazed me just how much there was to the story line considering what ive just told you there is basically the entire plot! Considering its a 96 minute film!

...about this amazing book called Bridget Jones' Diary that every woman has read. True, I had never even heard of it and was unsure about seeing a movie based on a book about men being bastards. However, I got dragged along to see this movie and must say that I rather enjoyed it.

Movie of the month - Bridget Jones Diary. The sad thing is that I`ll have to hear about this cack flick for a while to come. I`m dreading its release on DVD, video, sky, tv - why? Answer is - because I`ll be reminded that I went and wasted 2 hrs of my life watching it.

...dubious character and womanising, so Bridget obviously has a relationship with him. She has the habit of doing and saying the wrong thing at exactly the worst time, I cringed inside on a number of occasions, feeling really sorry for her, the highlights in her performance were the speech at the ruby wedding party and her resignation speech. And would you believe even the old fancy dress party joke worked brilliantly – anyone who makes that funny gets ...

...have not read the book Bridget Jones' Diary, and I think the film is enhanced by having read it. Knowledge of the book fills in background to the film, making it more believable - for one thing, Bridget in the film comes across as a bit of a loser, whereas I'm told in the book she is shown to be immensely witty, which would explain why two handsome men are in love with her.
