...have never read Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's(that's how they spell it!) Diary, but after seeing this film, I think I will make it my business to do so. Advantages: Incredibly funny and surprising better than the book.
Disadvantages: Slightly longer than the average comedy.

No, its not a cinematic masterpiece, and perhaps the accents are a little too 'English', but this film is light hearted, and has inspired me to go out and make sure i do all those mad things (ie running down a snowy street in a pair of leopard print knickers and little else!) ... Movie of the month - Bridget Jones Diary. The sad thing is that I`ll have to hear about this cack flick for a while to come. I`m dreading its release on DVD, video, sky, tv - why? Advantages: Well made - funny - British

...dubious character and womanising, so Bridget obviously has a relationship with him. She has the habit of doing and saying the wrong thing at exactly the worst time, I cringed inside on a number of occasions, feeling really sorry for her, the highlights in her performance were the speech at the ruby wedding party and her resignation speech. ...have not read the book Bridget Jones' Diary, and I think the film is enhanced by having read it. Knowledge of the book fills in background to the film, making it more believable - for one thing, Bridget in the film comes across as a bit of a loser, whereas I'm told in the book she is shown to be immensely witty, which would explain why two handsome men are in love with her.
