...from the main plot of Blade seeking out the vampire that killed his mother and made him what he is- a day walker, neither vampire nor human but something else, there are also romantic sub plots of Blade and the good lady haematologist doctor, Blades relationship with Whistler. Whistler's past experiences with Vampires murdering his wife and kids. Finding that there is a cure for Blade's unusual condition and then rejecting it. finding new weapons ...
...There's also plenty of humor thrown in. The soundtrack for this film is also excellent. I bought a copy of this film on DVD and all I can say is that it's the best film Wesley Snipes has done yto date, and he should make more of the hero genre type film. He could possibly become revered as the black Arnold Swarzenegger. I advise everyone to get this film. It has it all. Blood, soundtrack and brilliant fight scenes. A must see movie. A must own ...

WOW! This has overtaken The Matrix in my best movies list! Wesley Snipes is da bomb and the blood and guts just make ya want 2 hurl! Which is great! It has a pumping techno soundtrack and Snipes' weapons r sweet! There is a load of decapitation, arm slinging, pinning to walls, chopping in half and a loads more puke-enhancing deaths. His car is pretty sweet 2. It is a little hard to understand but you don't really have time to think the first time ...

The plot, though not bad (all you need to know is vampires), takes second place in this madcap action film. The filming and direction is excellent. The special effects are excellent. The action is excellent. The explosions are excellent. The fighting is excellent. The whole "we need 12 pure-blood vampires to do a revive but we killed one and it still worked" plot hole and the "Whistler shot himself but he still appears in movie 2" plot hole. I'm always trying to decide if the tattoos Wesley has here, he also has in Demolition Man. The visuals are wicked and the fighting is well done. I didn't spot the silly plot holes until now (3rd time I've seen it) ...

To complete this goal, he needs the blood of a Daywalker, a vampire who is unharmed by sunlight, and Blade becomes the focus of his attention. The main story has some nice little threads of other stories that add to the development of the characters, the story behind Whistler and Blade and their relationship is particularly nicely handled ...
...the movie is the action. Violent without being excessively graphic and keeping a real spirit of the comic book alive, the battles are brilliantly executed. The pacing is just right and at no point does it descend into a complicated, hard to follow mass brawl. Easily on a par, in my opinion, with the excellent combat in the original Matrix movie. As a stand alone movie, this is excellent. Sadly, the sequels badly ley it down. Take it as a one off ...

I found Blade to be a great film to watch, the action and sound track to this movie is very good.
