He Makes the Film, And you watch it...

Advantages: High Quality Stunts, Action scenes and an overall great film.
Disadvantages: Cover of Video should be better to attract the viewer more.

...what you thought. Blade is a half-vampire who hunts the undead to avenge the death of his mother, who was bitten while pregnant, thus giving him "all of our strengths, non of our weaknesses". Referred to as "the daywalker" by the creatures he hunts, he is aided by Whistler, a semi-alcoholic, laconic sidekick who lost his family to vampires and Karen Jenson, a haematologist. Snipes plays Blade as a tortured, granite-faced warrior with a spirituality ...
...especially the final confrontation between Blade and Frost, are spectacular, although the disintegration of vampire corpses does become a little wearisome. The initial scenes in the vampire nightclub have a body count rivalling that of the goriest shoot-em up computer games. Everyone looks good, whether it's Frost's trendy haircut, or Blade's cyber-warrior cool, complete with tribal tattoos. The array of weaponry and gadgets is impressive, special ...

You could use it to explode some vampire heads

Advantages: one of the best vampire films
Disadvantages: none really

...by one of the vampires Blade thought he killed, her only hope is to try and find a cure for herself as well as Blade who suffers from blood cravings which are growing stronger. Blade is helped in his mission by Kris Kristofferson from ‘Payback’ who plays Whistler and constructs weapons for Blade to use. I don’t want to give away to much so I will just say that a plot led by evil vampire Deacon Frost to take over the world is unearthed ...
...like the man who gives Blade his medicine is genuinely convincing. My favourite character is an enormously fat vampire called Pearl who has an unfortunate encounter with Blade. The film is Filled with classic lines some cheesy some cool, however I am stopped from giving examples as the film is an 18 and is therefore full of swearing. The soundtrack is heavy techno which although not to many peoples taste it is an action movie and techno music just ...

A Cut Above The Rest

Advantages: high tech
Disadvantages: not a lot

...are everywhere. In the film, Blade is trying to find and destroy his archenemy, Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff), a vampire who’s so bad he’s got the whole Vampire High Council--a kind of vampire Mafia--afraid of him. Seems Frost is trying to decode an ancient vampire text that will enable him to resurrect a vampire god, or become the god himself, or something. Details are a little vague in these stories. Anyway, he needs Blade’s blood to make the thing ...
...following this? Early on, Blade saves the life of a beautiful doctor named Karen (N’Bushe Wright), who soon becomes Blade’s right-hand man; er, woman. Whatever. She gets bitten by a vampire, but an injection of garlic juice temporarily saves her. And did I tell you about garlic mace? Great for squirting in a vampire’s face and making his head explode. OK, reason and logic are not the film’s strong points. Action and adventure are. Snipes looks ...

...can change into a bat. Blade reinvents this genre of movie by including stunts, incredible special effects, amazing fight scenes and a killer soundtrack. The plot revolves around Blade (Wesley Snipes) a vampire hunter. He is however not human himself. He ages like a human, shares the power and intelligence of a vampire yet has none of their weaknesses. He is immortal making him the perfect adversary for Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff) a powerful vampire ...
...for plenty of confrontations between Blade and Frost and enables the incorporation plenty of superb fight scenes. The acting is quite superb from all the cast, especially Wesley Snipes. He manages to portray Blade in a believable way, which is hard considering he is meant to be immortal. Although immortal he steers clear from the terminator, walk through fire type of immortal. It is in my opinion a hard role to play but Wesley has done an incredible ...

Smaller budget but bigger entertainment

Advantages: Great film on a lower budget
Disadvantages: bit like all other action films

Blade is another hollywood adaptation of a superhero who started life in a comic. I must admit, I had never heard of the comic before but the idea of guy with body armour and cool weapons blowing away vampires sounded very cool. Blade opens up by giving showing us a little history. We see Blades mother being attacked by a vampire before she gives birth. This meant that Blade only acquired certain vampire properties. These being the incredible strength ...
...resistant to sun. Blade had a troubled youth before he was found by Whistler. Whistler sorted out Blades life and provided him with the unique weapons and body armour that allowed him to start his attack on the vampire world. Blade would never be happy until he had killed every last one of them. All of this is revealed later in the film as it starts off with a young man being "pulled" by a beautiful girl and being taken to a nightclub. He's enjoying ...

BLADE IM GONNA GETTA

Advantages: Graphics,Actors,music,orignality
Disadvantages: Not enough fight scenes, not enough weapons

Blade was released in 1998 where it hit the cinemas and I remember it being completely booked out for weeks before I got to see it myself but then it came out on DVD and I had to buy it that’s how good I thought it was. The director of this film was Stephen Norrington who is also a screen writter, actor, editor, and does special effects he originally got the idea from the Marvel comic version of Blade and made it into the great film it is, in the ...

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Ok this movie was shown about 2years, ago but I only just seen it! and loved every minute of it. Also I had no idea it was a vampire story, so the first sceen was a bit of a shock. It was set in an underground club and everyone just looked like normal clubbers then the sprinklers came on and instead of water of foam it was BLOOD, I thought what the hell and from then on it was action all the way. Fantastic action and story line a great modern day ...

101 uses for a sword

Advantages: Superb stunts and fight scenes with no Buffy
Disadvantages: Certified 18 and some slightly wooden acting

New Line Cinema’s Blade was released in 1998 and being based on a Marvel comic book character, hence Stan Lee is an executive producer, I didn’t hold out much hope for the film expecting to go the same route as The Phantom and all Batman’s after the original. However, when I watched the film I found myself pleasantly surprised not mention wholly satisfied after spend a fiver to watch it at the cinema. So, the film itself is based around Blade (Wesley ...
...scene of the film is Blade being born as his mother dies from a vampire bite and because of this he spends his life hunting down and killing vampires. The difference between Blade and Buffy? Well, Blade has the self-healing ability of a vampire and the increased strength etc but otherwise he is all human. Except for his thirst for human blood which is cured with serum. The good thing about Blade is that within 30 minutes you will have been introduced ...

What a masterpiece

Advantages: Great action scenes and story-line
Disadvantages: N/A

I watched this film for the first time on Sky Box Office. The blood scene at the start made my mother and younger brother leave the room, leaving me alone to watch this brilliant film. The start of the film will attract any one who is interested in vampires, blood, who are sick and probably all teenagers! The story line in this film is good, unlike most horrors where the main contect is in the murders or tension building, but that does not mean that ...

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Blade is without a doubt one of the best films that I have ever seen. Wesley Snipes (Blade) is at his dazzling best as the 'Day-walker' vampire as he takes on Steven Dorff (Deacon Frost - the evil 'take over the world' vampire) in this exciting blockbuster. There are brilliant action sequences with plenty fighting, blood, gore and dead vampires, as well as an superb soundtrack including New Order, Confusion. I highly recommend this film to all action/sc-fi ...

Advantages: Brought a great comic book character to the big screen
Disadvantages: Perhaps too much blood, not much else

...those of you who know Blade from reading the Marvel comic, you will know that Blade was born half man, half vampire. His mother was bitten at birth which caused his DNA to mutate so he gained all the strengths of the creatures of the night, but none of their weaknesses (unless you count the thirst for blood). In his teens, he is helped in containing his thirst for blood by Whistler (a vampire hunter out for revenge after a vampire killed his family). ...

After it starts raining blood he kind of realises what's going on, as he tries to escape he end up at the feet of some mean looking guy, which just so happens to be Blade. The vampires realise who he is- the so called 'Day Walker' and so a massacre ensues, in which Blade, with an arsenal of weapons, specially adapted in eliminating ...

...Blade. Wesley Snipes is Blade and he’s as much my hero here as he was in demolition man. A half breed, nearly turned at birth when a vampire killed his pregnant mother (Hmm). A character, numbed by years of having no place in society and who is known by the vampires as ‘the day walker’. Not vampire enough to succumb to his blood sucking urges, yet with superhuman strength, speed and agility he would never have fitted in with ...
...Whistler (Chris Kristofferson), a man soured by the killing of his family by a vampire. The two of them make a vampire killing team, the likes of which has never been seen before (not that any have been seen before. But hey). Flash moves combined with excellent weapons (using lots of silver) and a good dose of special effects make this film well worth ...

remembering the comic and the success of the movie

You remember the blade comic??? No?? How about the cartoon? No? I had never seen the comic or cartoon before and then watched this film. Simply put, i thought it was one of the coolest movies ever made. It was so well put together and acted and even though shooting vampires seems a bit strange, its not after you watch this movie as all is explained and it changes your opinion completely. Some people may think that the movie does not stick to the ...

Blade is known as the day walker as he himself is half vampire and therefore can walk in the day whilst with any normal vamp, the UV rays from the sun burn their skin apart. After I had watched this movie I performed a little research and dug up some comic books and videos to see how close Blade the film was to its Marvel ...

...violence, (oh, and blood), then Blade is definitely the film for you. This movie is filled with tons of gore and some awesome FX, the camera angles are superb, allowing the audience to get the best out of the fighting scenes. In this case, it is Wesley Snipes VS Stephen Dorff. Far-fetched? Yes. Creative? Yes. Entertaining? Yes. As a half man, half vampire, Blades' (Snipes) main goal in life is to wipe out all the vampires on earth. Equipped with human abilities, vampire strength, and a bunch of high-tech ...
