...Marvel comic of the character Blade but has been changed to make a dark and sexy film. There are many differences between the comic character and the film. I first saw this film when it was first realised on video and my auntie was babysitting at the time. I’ve always been a fan of vampire films and this didn’t disappoint.
I know own this and the other two in the trilogy on DVD box set and I never get bored on them. I am also a fan of Stephen Dorff ...

...dark and violent character as Blade torn free from the pages to burst onto our screens.
The Comic Book Hero
***************************
Blade is a hero with a difference. He is half vampire, born as his mother died from a vampires bite. He has all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses, and is consequently known by the vampire fraternity as “The Daywalker”.
Rescued from a life of feeding on the homeless, by his mentor and sidekick ...

We only know him as Blade but we find out that he was orphaned at birth, his mother being bitten by the vampire, Deacon Frost, while in labour. Due to the circumstances of his birth Blade became immune to the bite of vampires and wanting revenge, became a vampire hunter.
In the original story his first prey was Dracula himself who he eventually managed to hunt down and destroy in Japan. Dracula is soon resurrected by his servants and ...

...in my opinion is the Blade trilogy and in particular this one, the first big screen adventure for the half man, half vampire Blade. The fact that Wesley Snipes stars as the Daywalker was one of the factors that lead me to watching it but it certainly was a good decision.
When his mother is bitten by a Vampire during Childbirth she dies but the baby takes on the form of a half Human, half Vampire Daywalker who later becomes known as Blade (Wesley ...

I liked the sound of Blade when I first heard about it way back in 1998. It sounded different, unique, and had a new slant on things (well, vampire things), but why were HMV forever trying to flog it off? Hmmm, best avoid it and spend my hard earned pennies elsewhere. Skip forward to the shiny new millennium though (slipping off the Bacofoil suit and leaving the flying car in the hover driveway naturally) and Blade has now been snapped up by the ever ...

Whistler and Blade make a good team; their one and only mission in life is to kill as many vampires as they possibly can. They are working to protect the human race and destroy these creatures who feed on the blood of the innocent. In Blade's own words, he has all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses. The vampires call Blade the "daywalker" as he is able to walk in sunlight. He does have one weakness - the thirst - ...

...their daily / nightly business. Blade circumvents a lot of previous vampire baggage by taking the story of vampirism and bringing it right up to date, here in the modern world. The result is an absolutely superb action flick, with great characters, an excellent storyline, and well-paced action.
The story goes something like this:- Vampires exist. They are not a myth, they are not a legend. They are real and they are among us. One vampire in particular, ...

Blade was first released in 1998, directed by Stephen Norrington, and starring Wesley Snipes as a half human half vampire, who's mission is to slay all the bad vampires of the world. When I first saw this film I loved it, I was a big fan of the comic books, and watching a big screen adaptation was just well worth the wait. I thought snipes was a brilliant actor to play blade, having seen his early films i.e. passenger 57, and demolition man, this ...

...in basic terms, is that Blade was converted to a (semi -) vampire due to his mother being bitten while pregnant with him. Blade is a good vampire of the non-neck sucking variety, he actually fights and kills the baddy blood-thirsty species with various fancy weapons (created for him by Whistler – Kristofferson’s character) and martial art moves and stunts. His adversary is Deacon Frost (Dorff) who wants to convert himself into this supernatural ...

Wesley Snipes plays Blade and if we remember his brilliant performance in Demolition Man we remember what a great action character he makes. Blade was born half-vampire half-man due to his mother becoming infected with a vampire bite during pregnancy. Known to the vampires as day-walker he devotes himself to seeking out and destroying them, hoping one day to find the one who caused what is interpreted as a disease in the film. Snipes ...

...Comic that went before, Blade introduces us to a world that we never knew existed. The world is amok with vampires, secretly biding their time and developing a power base that could one day threaten the existence of normal human beings. Born to a human mother, Blade is a sort of vampire-hybrid - he all the strengths of a vampire but none of the weaknesses, and has dedicated his life to the pursuit - and destruction - of all vampires. This film essentially ...

Advantages: Good direction, well paced, enjoyable nonsense Disadvantages: A bit silly?
Blade begins, in 1967, with a young mother, obviously in some distress, giving birth. The attendants whip the baby away from her, its fate unknown. We then jump forward to the present day. A young man is being led into what is obviously an exclusive night-club. Loud techno music (I think!) is throbbing, people are gyrating wildly on the dance-floor and doing ‘naughty things’ in the background. Some patrons treat the man a little roughly, ...

(Graphic novel by the way is the new name for comics with an adult content such as violence), Like Batman, Blade is a character from the dark side of human nature; the areas of the mind and body that polite society does not talk about never mind acknowledges. He is a man whose very being is tortured ...
