Advantages: Its hilarious Disadvantages: not as good as the first one
The sequel to Beverly Hills Cop is no way near as good as the first one but that’s not to say it is a bad film as Eddie Murphy plays his role particularly well once again and there are still a lot of funny gags throughout the film but the down side is the plot which is similar to the original but just doesn’t seem to be as exciting as the first. Axel Foley has returned to Detroit after busting Makelin and working out who killed Mikey and why. He ... ...friends he worked with in Beverly Hills has been killed by the alphabet robber. Axel decides he is going to track down the murderer and with the help of his two friends Rosewood and Taggart to try and bring the murderer down but first he manages to borrow a house to stay in by using his police badge to get the builders to leave becasue they have messed up on the building work because, according to Foley, the house should have no right-angles.Quite ...

Advantages: Axel Foley is back Disadvantages: Loud, flashy and just plain bad
...sequel. Returning to Beverly Hills to investigate a kidnapping, Axel Foley is back on the case. The trouble is that the case is ridiculous and Foley's reason for being there utterly contrived. Clearly cobbled together from some old scripts in order to give Murphy the opportunity to reprise his most successful role, the movie is a dreadful hodgepodge of nonsense interspersed with hyperkinetic gun battles.
Axel Foley was such a likeable character ... ...hard to see why people wanted to spend more time with him. Sadly this film lacks any of the warmth or wit of the first movie preferring instead over-the-top violence, a bleach-blonde Amazonian baddie and some unfortunate neon clothing. The movie's tagline was "The heat is back on" but in reality they couldn't get the gas to light.
Director Tony Scott was in serious danger of becoming the archetypal style over substance director having followed up ...

Advantages: Greatly Amusing, Axel at his best Disadvantages: None whatsoever
...Let’s not forget why the Beverly Hills cop franchise was so famous it was because of the team of Eddie (Axel Foley), Judge Reinhold (Billy Rosewood), John Ashton (John Taggart), Ronny Cox (Capt. Andrew Bougourmill), Paul Resier (Jeffery) and Gill Hill (Inspector Todd) and because of the way Axel squeezes himself and the guys out of any situation and gets himself into any situation and makes the audience cry with laughter at the same time, the fact ... ...IMPORTANTLY, John Ashton, without him, Beverly Hills Cop cannot be called the same. Part II is about Bogourmill being gunned down in broad daylight and due to the heavy politics that infests the system because of a curropt and highly cynical chief of police Chief Lutz. Axel makes his won rules and flies down to California after hearing that one of his best friends and the man who put his neck on the line for him is in critical condition. As soon ...

Advantages: Funniest comedy!! Disadvantages: Not as good as the first one
The sequel to the first beverly hills cop does not fail to impress. Eddie Murphy in my opinion is the funniest actor around and these cop films back meup. The jokes he comes out with are so original and hilarious and its amzing how he can snap into different roles through out the film to save him self or get him self out of trouble like when he turns into Johny Wishbone when caught in the police station. He pulls all hisjokes off so well and if he ... ...who shot the chief at Beverly Hills police department a man he met in the first one. Axel becomes faced with a number of various tasks through out the film such as trying to solve an alphbet murder which he does and also avoid trouble back hoe in Detroit with Inspector Todd.
I loved this film and would recommend its viewing to anyone. ...
