Honest oppinion: Worst Batman movie ever ! Directed by Joel Schuhmacher and not Tim Burton (of Batman and Batman Returns fame)and with a cast of Batman (Goerge Clooney), Robin (Chris O' Donnell), Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman)and Mr. Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger) this should have been a good movie but sadly it isn't. ...fourth movie in the semi-successful Batman franchise which started with the excellent just-dark-enough Batman. The following Batman Returns and Batman Forever, while not as good as the first look like masterpieces when compared to this hodge-podge pile of steaming '....'. ...lessons had been learnt from Batman Forever, and this would get the series back on track. We have a new Batman (George Clooney) and he is convincing in the role. Chris O'Donnel returns as Robin, but I've never been overly impressed by him. The worst part of the film is Arnold Schwarzenneger's appearance as Mr Freeze. He is absolutely terrible in this. ...the worst movie of the Batman Franchise. Whoever allowed Arnie to play Doctor Freeze should be shot. The rumours were that Patrick Stewart (of Star Trek fame) was going to play the icy villain. This would have been a much better choice of actor, as it would have portrayed the comic series better. The change of Batman again was another issue why this film was a flop. Batman and Robin looks colorful and stylish, and it has interesting bad guys, but nothing really happens in the film; it's just a series of poorly edited fight scenes. Plot has taken a backseat to the feel of the piece, which is all abstraction and outline passing as action. The movie is the equivalent of doodles in a sketchbook, not real comics.
