...---About the film---
Bambi was Disney's 5th animated classic and was first released in 1942, when it was nominated for three Academy Awards including best song. Right that's all the history I'm going to tell you, because quite frankly that's all I either know or care about.
And onto the film itself, and what a wonderful animation it is, in fact it's an animation against which all others should be compared. While the backdrops are rendered with ... ...characters from the film with Bambi taking the prominent position. This is then enclosed in a cardboard slipcase, which is identical in design to the actual case and helps keep it looking pristine. The actual DVDs are beautifully printed with scenes from the film, but the lack of gloss finish does give a little bit of the impression that I could create just as good printing using my Epson DVD printer.
All in all though I would say that the presentation ...

Advantages: Classic Disney animation Disadvantages: The songs and mothers death
...I don’t know if Bambi does stand up to the time test, like so many other people say! The music to me is dated, as are the songs. The colour perhaps not as sharp as you get in animated films now and the story not quite what most kids would expect and want. OK, that being the case, why write it? Because, for me it was a time of innocence lost. I learned that man is not always nice and that he can do cruel things, I learned that mothers die and that ... ...film!

Bambi was first shown in Cinemas in 1942, but work on the film originally started in 1936. Acknowledged by Walt Disney himself as his favourite film. Advantages: This film is a straight original classic Disadvantages: I don't think there is any!
About Bambi:
Bambi is a film of emotion, growing up and love and is probably one of Walt Disney's most original masterpieces. The film is about life in a forest where deer are powerful but are always at the risk of humans. Bambi starts off as a small newly born foal ( who may I say is very cute ) and is the son of the prince of the forest. Bambi has many struggles through his childhood ( like learning how to talk and walk ) but his good friends ... ...who is called Philline and Bambi finds her very annoying as a foal. His mother takes great care of him but as winter comes, tradegy strikes. She's shot by hunters. Heartbroken, Bambi relies on his father until he's old enough to fend for himself. May I also say that when Bambi's mum dies it is very depressing. The older Bambi soon falls in love with Philline and after a dramatic escape from a forest fire, becomes the new prince of the forest and ...

The film itself is a masterpiece. There are moments where you can nitpick, when Bambi's mother died we then go into a joyful scene very suddenly, and some of the songs sound a little dated in their arrangement, but they're good tunes nonetheless.

Advantages: Classic Disney Film Disadvantages: April Showers song is sooooo annoying!!
Bambi is essentially a story about a young deer as he grows up to become "The Great Prince of the Forest". It tells the tale of Bambi and his friends Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk as they grow up and fall in love.
First released in 1942, Bambi is starting to show its age. With new Disney films such as the fantastic Finding Nemo, Bambi seems out dated and stale in comparison. However, the film is still enjoyable as a classic Disney animation.
