Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me (DVD)

In this case i guess i would have to sit on the fence a little. My reason for this is that the film in it's basics builds very little on what the first one achieved when it captivated millions with it's blend of blaitant jokes and subtle wit. It incorporated the same garish costumes, locations, several of the original characters made appearances, same comical names (ivanna humpalot/alotta vagina spring to mind) and even some of the jokes were carried ...
...one it still seems like a different and thoroughly enjoyable film. Maybe this is down to the type of film in itself that appeals so much to people, or maybe the directors are very clever people who can not only sell their product (the film) on the back of it's predecessor but also change very little and still churn out a great film. Whilst Austin Powers 2 is a funny film it's just more of the same gags! The DVD is on the plus side, it's packed with extras such as music videos, deleted scenes and behind the scenes footage. A very good transfer that sustais a fairly average bitrate. The colour are bright and vibrant (which is perfect for this colourful movie!), the fast moving psychadelic colours look great and there are no signs of artifacts or 'nicks' in the master. The items which appear to be being pulled out of or inserted into Power's backside made for the best comedy I had seen for a long long time.
