Recently I hired Austin Powers 2(The Spy Who Shagged Me) on DVD, expecting more of the originality, sparkling whit and in general a bloody funny film. However, slightly disappointed would be fair description of how I felt. The individual characters were very good once again, with some superb scenes for DR.Evil and Minime. Heather Graham stole the show quite easily as Felicity (more perfect than any Bond girl I've ever seen (well Ursula Andress excepted)). ... Read review

Austin Powers is a great comedy that is almost as good as the first one. Bringing in new characters such as Minime makes the film seem a lot better as he is one of the funniest characters in the movie. Austin Powers Two is even funnier than the first! Austin’s back again, and this time with new jokes, and a new assistant. Also, doctor Evil comes back, but with a new assistant too. His name is Mini Me, and he one eighth of Dr Evil. He’s the equivelent of a chiuaua, with twice the attitude. He even tries to kill Dr Evil's son Scott. i was disappointed by this austin powers sequel. although it certainly had its funny parts, i felt it was sadly lacking and unoriginal compared to the first film. heather graham cannot compare to liz hurley--whereas liz looked like she was having fun in her role, heather seemed more stiff acting next to mike myers. i don't know what the deal is with the fat bastard character. he is perplexing like jar jar is, i suppose. not really funny at all. i ... I didn't really its a quote from this film. The worst character in the film says it so I don't know why I used it for my introduction. Anyway this film is one of my favourite comedies of all time. It just keeps getting funnier. It is only beaten by Some Like it hot. Mike myers has made a masterpiece. ...Story follows the adventures of Austin Powers (aptly named film then) who is a James Bond character as he attempts to recover his "MOJO" from his arch enemy, Dr Evil. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me is in even worst taste and is less funny. The balance shifted too far toward gross-out jokes and away from cleverness. I laughed, yes, but I groaned and slapped my forehead in disbelief more often. It's one thing to exercise bad taste in the service of a greater goal, but bad taste for bad taste's own sake -- bad taste just to get a cheap reaction out of the audience -- is a less than admirable accomplishment. ...
