Grooooooooovy

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: none

I think that the second austin powers movie is dead funny just like the original because not a lot of people would think to take the mick out of "goverment agent james bond". The jokes and genral appeal of both of the austin powers movies make them funny and funny to watch. I went to watch this with my mates at the cinema when it first came out and after the opening scene the cinema was in fits of laughter and this genraly sums up what this film ...

Oh Be-have

Advantages: Really funny film, good jokes
Disadvantages: Definitely not as good as the first. Way too glossy & slick- lacked that indie charm

...trend and make money. Austin Powers 1 was special. A P 2 was funny, yes, but I felt it suffered the same fate as Wayne's World 2: you absolutely love it and want more after seeing the first film, but in creating a sequel that "magic" gets lost and it becomes over-commercialised. Although the first film was fantastic, sadly it seems it simply cannot be sustained for a sequel, it becomes a re-run of the first. You know who much you love something ...
...heard of, etc? Then suddenly everyone jumps on the bandwagon and it gets annoying? You get annoyed because it's never quite the same. I have every respect for Mike Myers as a writer and actor. And I do LIKE A P2. I just felt it spoilt it for me, it became over-commercialised and (dare I say it) sold out. A P 2 is a good film, don't let me put you off. But please watch the original first, so you know what it is really all about. ...

...has come back to thwart Austin Powers again. This time he plans to steal Austins mojo (sexual power), while he is cryogenically frozen in 1969. A spy known as Fat Bastard, a very large scottish man, steals the mojo from Austins frozen body. This affects the time line and the present day Austin as we know him, looses his sexual prowes with women. With the help of the Ministry of Defence, Austin learns that Dr. Evil is up to his wicked ways. He must ...

Thats enough plot, what about the film? I'll say it now, this is really Dr Evils film. Mike Myers has really improved on this character and he is know funnier than ever. I think he probably has more screen time that Austin. But why have one Dr Evil when ...

Myers at creative excellence

Advantages: Myers and Graham carry the plot off excellently, great story, well written, well delivered by all
Disadvantages: the sequel is taking so long to be made, although its worth it if its anywhere as near as good quality as this one

...cinema, right to the end. Austin goes back in time when Dr Evil steals the mojo of the then cryogenically frozen Powers in 1967. He is sexually useless without it. It is in the 60s he meets Felicity Shagwell, played perfectly by Heather Graham. The 2 hit it off immediately, and have an excellent on screen rapport that stops the viewer from fobbing them off as 2 crappy spoofs. The plot is excellent, with big holes in factual data at times. For example, ...
...sat in such close proximity to the blasters? I think not! However, the jokes, cracks and spoofs are clearly cleverly and thoroughly thought out and well delivered by all the actors, including Seth Green, a favourite actor of mine who plays Dr Evils jilted son, Scott. Recommend 100%. If you like the film, make sure you get the DVD as there is a full length commentary that gives some more surprises about the film and the process of making it, and there ...

Totally Shagadellic!

Advantages: Funny jokes and funny characters
Disadvantages: bit twisted but hey thats Mike Myers!!!

In many ways this film can appeal to both adults and mostly the teens of today. It has lots of funny and even more sick jokes and scenes. One is perhaps the tent scene (you have to watch it to get it!). The performance of Mike Myers is deifnatley something to be noted as he plays three very memorable people in this movie and also that of the cute mini-me. Very much better than the first one. Back to my first sentance when I said it can appeal to ...

Advantages: Too many extra features to name, secret ones as well!

...I was totally wrong. Austin Powers 2 is an excellent comedy. You are laughing at almost every explicit joke and if you have an eye for noticing things, you'll have even more at the implicit in jokes such as the hills of hollywood in the background of an Inner city london scene. Extra features on the DVD include hilarious deleted scenes, a full length commentary, interviews with the cast and crew, cast and crew bio's, music videos and info on other ...
...Its bright screen menus and dancing Austin Powers in the middle mean you don't mind just looking at the title screen once you've finished the film. Its got everything you'd want in a DVD, an excellent showcase to the idea that DVD's are far superior to regular videos. ...

Good, I Guess

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Austin Powers, a spy frozen back in the sixties and thawed recently to fight Dr. Evil (in the first movie), again does battle with Dr. Evil. Powers is a spoof on James Bond, and most of the amusing bits come from this. Dr. Evil travels back in time and steals Austin's Mojo, his mystical power of attraction and sexuality. There's a great scene on the Jerry Springer show and the occasional funny line, but this movie goes to the well too many times ...

Very Funny

Advantages: Very funny
Disadvantages: none

Austin Powers is one of those movies that has become MORE popular as time wears on. Austin's slang has worked its way into the lexicon and everything from the redhot video to the Austin Powers Penis Enlarger is on sale and raking in meeeeeelions. When news of a sequel hit the streets, fans freaked. It's safe to say that AP2 is rivaled only by The Phantom Menace as 1999's must see. The wait is over. The second-most anticipated movie of 1999 finally ...
...to 1997's video hit has Austin heading back to the 60s to track down his mojo, stolen by one of Dr. Evil's comically evil hapless henchmen. What's mojo? A multi-colored, stringy looking mess that makes Austin irresistible to the ladies. But the plot isn't so important. This is the Austin you know and love, only this time he's even more raw and hardcore. It's clear that Myers was given a much larger budget to bring his vision to the screen after ...

...either love or hate the Austin Powers films, I love them. I first saw The Spy who Shagged me flying home from the states. I so liked the film that I went out and bought it as soon as it was on general release. ...had expected to find this Austin Powers II rather silly & unfunny, as I hadn't really liked any of the clips I had seen, but I ended up loving it ! The story is quite camp sci-fi really, a bit of Bond, a bit of Dr. Who, a lot of kitsch ! The story is basically about Dr. Evil - the baddie - trying to hold the US to ransom, threatening to blow up Washington with a laser. At the same time, Austin Powers has had his 'mojo' stolen & needs to rescue it ...
...sense when you watch it ! There are so many excellent scenes, my favourite being the very cleverly edited one when people are describing the phallic shaped rocket ! The film starts & ends on a Jerry Springer show & there are some cameos to look out for from people like Elvis Costello & Woody Harrelson. The cast itself is peppered with star names too, including Robert Wagner & Rob Lowe. Heather Graham plays Powers' beautiful sidekick. Besides Mike ...

Advantages: Heather Graham.
Disadvantages: She isn't in it for all of the film.

Good God I love this film. Not only for the great comic genius of Mike Myers (watch out baby sitters...), not only for the great characters, and the great humour which throws the films, and the watcher, in all directions, but also, and should I say mainly, for the beautiful and absoulutly Shagadelic Heather Graham. She is so damn beautiful, you can see straight away why Mike Myers chose her as the new love interest (While Liz Hurley is quite literally, ...

Finally there are three music videos - Madonnas `Beautiful Stranger`, Lenny Kravitzs `American Woman` and Mel Gs `Word Up - US Version` which is far better than the ley-line themed original. If you are lucky you may find the Hidden Menu, although to be honest this really isn`t worth looking for as the original ...

Hilarious - Best film ever!!!

Advantages: Hilarious

The question everyone was asking was: Could the sequel live up to the reputation of its predecessor? Was the question will it even exceed its predecessor unquestionable? Well The Spy who Shagged Me triumphed above all expectations and was hilarious!!! This, I feel I must write an opinion on because it is most definitely my favourite film that I have ever watched. The script is hilarious throughout – never a dull moment! Some hilarious films have ...

Advantages: Something new in comedy.
Disadvantages: Jokes get a bit repetitive (eg 'oh behave')

...by now heard of the Austin Powers phenomenon. If not then well...he's the creation of Mike Myers (Waynes World, So I Married an axe murderer) and this character is the ultimate spy from the 60's. Now don't switch off there - this is not a serious film it's 100% comedy all the way and I've found that most people love it or hate it. In this, the second of the Austin Powers films, Austin has to travel back in time to the 60's (having previously been ...
...to the essence that makes Austin Powers the chick magnet which he is famed for. He travels back in time, goes to the hidden secret volcano lair, he goes into space and in the end he even gets the girl. There are an enormous amount of one liners, a scene on Jerry Springer and some absolutely brilliant characters (if you don't cry from laughter/shame when you see "Fat Bastard" then this film is not for you) and the whole film is just down right funny. ...
