"Grrrrr Baby"

Advantages: Hysterically Funny
Disadvantages: Plot irrelevent and illogical

...Scary Spice) • DVD-ROM Features: Austin Powers and Dr. Evil Web Browsers and a playable demo of a trivia game by Berkeley Systems, "Austin Powers Operation" • Widescreen anamorphic format "I put the grrr in swinger, baby!" a deliciously randy Austin Powers coos near the beginning of The Spy Who Shagged Me, and if the imagination of Austin creator Mike Myers seems to have sagged a bit, his energy surely hasn't. This friendly, go-for-broke sequel ...
...man Austin heading back to the '60s to keep perennial nemesis Dr. Evil (Myers again) from blowing up the world--and, more importantly, to get back his mojo, that man-juice that turns Austin into irresistible catnip for women, especially American spygirl Felicity Shagwell (a pretty but vacant Heather Graham). The plot may be irreverent and illogical, the jokes may be bad (with characters named Ivana Humpalot and Robin Swallows, née Spitz), and the ...

...riot. I saw the first Austin Powers film and I'd have to say that I thought the second one was definately more funny. Some people don't get the appeal of this film and yeh ok its your basic toilet humour but hey if it works why not? I think thats part of the humour itself the fact that all levels and classes of people can handle the humour and when it all comes down to it, its just a bit of fun designed for you to have a relaxed hour and a half, two ...

Finally, they got it right!

Advantages: much funnier than the first
Disadvantages: still missing something

I saw Austin Powers 1 - I hated Austin Powers 1. I gave it a second chance, but still I hated it. So why did I find myself going to a mates house to watch the second one? IT WAS FREE OF COURSE!! However, I was still expecting disappointment. 2 minutes into the film I laughed, something that I only did once during the first film. After that, the film just got funnier and funnier. The new characters were a great success in my opinion, and Mike Myers ...

Yeh baby this movie rocks

Advantages: Fuuuuuunyyyyy
Disadvantages: none

Many people thought that Austin Powers 1 was one of the funniest movies ever made. It's still hard to argue with those people but the sequel certianly gives it a run for its money. Mike Myers showed that he was good at making sequels with Waynes World 2 but this is in a different league. Although Liz Hurley doesn't return, her shoes (and something else) are filled by Heather Graham who takes out the lead female role. The story is based around Dr. ...

Groovy Baby Yeah

Advantages: Very amusing send up of the 1960's
Disadvantages: A bit wacky

Austin Powers 2, “The Spy who Shagged me” is a spoof film, these films are not to everybody’s tastes. In fact I normally loathe them and turn off or fall asleep. I think, to be honest, you have to be in the right mood for this type of film and cannot analyse them or attempt to take them seriously. So, what is this spoof about. Mike Myers plays, Austin Powers, a 1960’s secret agent, who was frozen in 1967, only allowed to ...
...He did in Austin Powers 1, so Austin was released onto the 1990’s. In this film Dr Evil, steals Powers Mojo, (his sexiness/libido) so that Powers will be powerless to defeat him. A lot of the word power in that sentence! To do this Dr Evil invents a time machine to go back to 1969 (when Austin is frozen), once Austin’s mojo is stolen, he is useless with the girls. Sounds stupid, well it is. It is also very amusing. Austin goes back to ...

Yeah baby, Yeah!

Advantages: Mini me compleats... this film
Disadvantages: The fat (Barstard) definatly needed trimming

From the openning moment of the film Myers take hold of your funnybone and works his mojo all over it. Not quite as smooth as the first, the humour is sometimes strained, like the entire 'Fat Barstard' Character. But other moments are sheer genious. I don't know what he had been taking to come up with the Mini me character, but it aught to be made available on perscription, the world would be so much more fun. Heather Graham might not be much when ...

"I demand a little respect"

Advantages: Gut-wrenchingly funny
Disadvantages: Lots of sly advertising

An utterly brilliant film - so good that I had to see it twice in the cinema and the number of films I have done that for can be counted on one hand. Mike Myers is again superb, this time in three roles, and Heather Graham replaces the cardboard Elizabeth Hurley to great effect. Once again though I think that Dr Evil steals the show, along with his "clone", the suitably titled "Mini Me". The film rolls from one hilarious scene to another, although ...
...is most amusing. The two biggest instances of this are when he appears on the Jerry Springer show and when he asks for the American President to "Show me the money". Myers is again superb, and although it doesn't normally work this way the film surpasses the quality of the original. ...

...torture would end. Gladly, Austin Powers 2 is much better. The jokes go on for just the right amount of time, and they are actually very funny. There is lots of immature humour, lots of clever gags, and lots of slap-stick - basically there's something for everybody, not to mention that this sequel has a stronger storyline. It's definitely worth a watch, even if you didn't like the first. ...

No Baby

Advantages: Groovy atmosphere - sometimes
Disadvantages: Just not funny enough

...a lot about the first Austin Powers film from friends who had seen the film, not once, but several times, and expected a lot. Unfortunatley this film just did not deliver. Some scenes were hysterically funny - I'm talking about the tent silhouette scene - but most just didn't quite hit the mark. I simply grew weary of Mike Myers not quite getting the laughs he was trying to set up. I tried my hardest to laugh at this film, but ended up feeling rather ...

...scenes that are funnier then Austin I but there are scenes that are worse, and overall, i just felt it was not ground breaking enough or different enough from the original to be classified as better. There is a great kamizaze appearance from Jerry Springer and the appearance of MiniMe was brilliant. He was one of the best performances of the film. This was the good (and when it was good, it was really good), but the bad was really bad, including ...

...the sequel to th fantastic Austin Powers 1. The Spy who shagged me is heaving with comic action. ...to steal the mojo of Austin Powers, then you know that there’s going to be trouble. Mike Myers once again plays the super spy Austin Powers, as well as his arch rival Dr Evil in his second spoof spy film, ‘Austin Powers, The Spy Who Shagged Me’, if you had seen the first of the films then you probably would know that everything turned out hunkey dorey in the end. This one is just as cool with great clothes, music (Madonna (chick), ...
...anything with his teeth! Austin has to use all of his brilliantly toned spy skills to get back his mojo in order to have a large portion with all of the lovely ladies that seem to throw themselves at him, as well as save the world, but this of course has to take the back burner as his mojo is far more important. With brilliant characters such as Mini Me, Fat Bastard, Frau Bishoner, and all the rest including the lovely Fembots, this is truly a ...

Great DVD

Advantages: Great Extras
Disadvantages:

Austin Powers - The spy who shagged me is a great DVD. In my opinion, this film is better than the first one, mainly because of the lovable Mini-Me whose scenes are always hilarious. One of the best scenes is the one where Dr Evil sings his own version of Will Smith’s “Just the two of us” and on DVD, I can watch this scene on repeat! Apart from the expected high quality picture and sound, this DVD has some nice extras. It has all but one of the extras ...
