Advantages: Fun, quirky humour and a lot of action. Disadvantages: A little rude.
...The film 'Goldmember' opens to Austin Powers, (Michael Myers ) zooming along in his colourful Union Jack 'Shaguar', followed by a 60's psychedelic dance sequence. This sets the tone of the third film from the fabulous stable of mock spy films which parody James Bond and other similar films in the 'Spy'genre. Austin 'Danger' Powers is a trendy and colourful 'International Man of Mystery' from London, who travels around in time in his mission to overcome evil.
Well as usual with these films of Austin Powers it isn't really about the plot, so expect little serious content here. This is a self parody, and a film within a film. The basic premise is that Doctor Evil, arch enemy to Austin Powers wants to destroy the world with his newly ...

So whats new? To be frankly honest, nothing much. In fact I wont be the only here who thought that Myers switched into auto-mode or hit the rewind button whilst making this. Even on first view of the previews, it didn’t look promising! Sorry, I’m jumping ahead of myself. The plot. Yes there’s the joke about women with names that sound rude. Yes, theres the shadow jokes again. Yes theres the usual pulling of faces and cheesy phrases (Oh Behave!). I could go on but you get my drift. Further into the film, I could almost sense the same tired jokes coming along. There are some funny moments though such as the opening sequence (which I wont spoil, you’d just have to see it) and Mini-Me ...

...the third installment of the Austin Powers franchise. I never saw the whole of the first, but have seen the second on video and thought it was very funny, especially the Dr. Evil/Scott Evil double act. I've lost nothing by watching the third, but like most sequels, and nearly all third installments, it's pretty tired and relies heavily on self-referential p**stakes and scatology to see it through.

... ...are the features that make Austin so funny and charming. There is a fairly grin-raising scene between them where they beat Cockney rhyming slang into submission, but it's downhill from there. It's just a shame there isn't more of Dr. Evil- the finely honed master criminal parody of the second film has given way to a minor plot device (and yet another musical number, coming to a chart near you) although it does lead to one of the better scenes, where ...

There ya go! The film started brilliantly, very funny! We had Tom Cruise as Austin Powers and many other well known actors and actresses representing other roles.

Austin has cracked two of Dr.EVILs previous plans and now he is onto his third. It isn't necessary to watch the first two films before this one but you may prefer to if you wish.

Dr Evil agrees to tell Austin where his father is in return for transfer to the prison where Mini- Me is held. Advantages: More of the same genius Disadvantages: Losing it slightly
To complete the trilogy comes Austin Powers: Goldmember. Clearly a spoof on the James Bond title, Goldfinger. So will this finally be it for Austin Powers and Dr. Evil's rivalry that has been spread over 5 years (1997-2002) or about 40 years in their time? There was a lot to live up to with this film and the stars were queuing up to be a part of it. Before the third Austin Powers was released there was a big ‘to do’ about the name. They won though and ended up with “Austin Powers; Goldmember”.

...franchise casts Mike Myers as Austin 'Danger' Powers, a swinging spy from the 60s whose battles with his nemesis, Dr Evil (also played by Myers) take him from his natural habitat of 60s London to the present day and back again.
