Possibly one of the most well known characters in the history of anime, Astro Boy was originally the creation of Japan's prime comic-creator, Osamu Tezuka. First seen in comic...more...books, the character went on to appear on television in a black-and-white series throughout the 1960s and '70s, all before starring in this 2004 colour series. Set in the year 2030, the show follows Astro Boy, a small young robot who is adopted and trained to save the universe after being deserted by his inventor. Dr. Elefun takes the robot in, teaching him how to use his powers for the good of humanity.
